How to become a pilot in India?

What are the steps to being a pilot after
graduation?
  • To be able to attend any flying school, you must
have completed 102 level science, so a grad
level degree on top of that (if you were a
science student) would not change the path you
would take to become a pilot.
  • However, if you were not a science student during
your school years, you would have to take an NIOS
test to be qualified for the later courses
    offered by the flying schools.

Commercial pilot Or Army pilot?
  • Many people who are passionate about flying and
truly enjoy their work are initially concerned to
pursue this career path due to the cloud of
    scepticism that surrounds the aviation
    curriculum.
  • However, if one looks closely, the aviation
course is well-designed and organised, allowing
only those with the right attitude and character
    to follow it.
  • To begin, pilots are divided into two categories
    commercial and military (Army).

4
Pilots in the Commercial Sector
  • Commercial pilots are those that fly passengers
to various destinations on a regular basis using
    specialised aircraft.
  • Commercial pilots are required to have a
Commercial Pilot License (CPL), which is provided
by a variety of authorities around the world.

5
How to become a commercial pilot?
  • So, how do you go about becoming a commercial
    pilot?
  • To become a commercial pilot, you must complete
your training at a flying school that has been
approved by the Directorate General of Civil
    Aviation (DGCA).
  • To choose the required number of applicants, most
flying schools hold an entrance test.
  • Those who pass this entrance exam are then
subjected to a physical and medical examination.

6
  • The final candidates are then selected by hand.
  • Students receive flight instruction as well as
theoretical lectures at the training school.
  • You'll have accumulated sufficient flying hours
by the time you leave the flying school to apply
for a Commercial Pilot License and put your
skills to the test in the craft you've been
    mastering for a long time.

7
Pilot Training Timeline
  • The pilot training timeline is divided into many
    parts that are nearly intertwined.
  • After enrolling in a flying school, you will
    undergo a three-year state-of-the-art B. Sc. in
Aviation, during which you will learn in depth
about aviation and aircraft, as well as apply
what you have learned in the in-flight training
    hours.
  • Throughout the course, you will be checked on a
daily basis with quizzes and assignments.

8
  • To be qualified for a commercial pilot licence,
you must have at least 250 flight hours.
  • These 250 flight hours are earned while you are
    at the flying school.
  • You will participate in the flying cadet
    programme during your training.
  • To train and recruit new pilots and airline
employees, airline companies collaborate with an
aviation school to implement these programmes.
Joining one of these flying cadet programmes will
make it easier to find a job in airline.

9
  • Since entering an airline, you'll need to spend
another year or two as a trainee or first officer
to learn about the company's machinery and
    aircraft.
  • To get your hot seat in the cockpit as a flight
captain, you'll need at least 4-5 years of
    experience, dedication, and hard work.
