WHAT IS FERTILITY AND INFERTILITY?
  • Fertility is defined as the natural capacity to
    conceive a child. However, fertility does not
    come easily to everyone.
  • Few couples will face infertilitythe inability
    to conceive naturally after one year of
    unprotected sexual intercourse.

Infertility is not only a female health issue.
Both men and women can experience infertility.

FACTORS TO GET PREGNANT NATURALLY?
Pregnancy
  • In general Women will have
  • 2 Fallopian tubes
  • 2 ovaries
  • 1 Uterus to convince naturally

Implantation is the stage of pregnancy at which
the embryo adheres to the wall of the uterus.
The process of fertilization involves a sperm
fusing with an ovum (Egg)

INFERTILITY IN WOMEN
  • Female age of 35 years or older- who have been
    trying to conceive for six months or longer
  • Ovulation disorders which affect the release of
    eggs from the ovaries like polycystic ovary
    syndrome (PCOS) 
  • Uterine or cervical abnormalities- tumors in the
    uterine wall (uterine fibroids) may cause
    infertility by blocking the fallopian tubes 
  • Fallopian tube damage or blockage
  • Endometriosis- when endometrial tissue grows
    outside of the uterus, may affect the function of
    the ovaries, uterus and fallopian tubes.
  • Primary ovarian insufficiency (early
    menopause), when the ovaries stop working and
    menstruation ends before age 40
  • Cancer and its treatment. Certain cancers
    particularly reproductive cancers often impair
    female fertility. Both radiation and chemotherapy
    may affect fertility.
  • Multiple miscarriages

INFERTILITY IN MEN?
  • Sperm count, or the number of sperm
  • Shape of the sperm
  • Movement of the sperm, which includes both the
    wiggling motion of the sperm themselves and the
    transport of the sperm through the tubes of
    the male reproductive system
  • Abnormal sperm production or function due to
    health problems.
  • Problems with the delivery of sperm due to sexual
    problems, such as premature ejaculation and
    certain genetic diseases
  • Overexposure to certain environmental factors,
    Cigarette smoking and alcohol.
  • Damage related to cancer and its
    treatment, including radiation or chemotherapy.
    Treatment for cancer can impair sperm production
