3- WORK READINESS
- Work readiness means the skills required at the
workplace. There are many workplace readiness
training programs that teach you the required
skills and attributes. - This is different from job readiness and career
readinesses as work readiness are soft skills.
These include the skills that an employer is
looking for in you which would ultimately result
in the employer being impressed and you would get
extra benefits. Apart from professional skills,
this makes you a good social human being also.
Skills like critical thinking, punctuality,
positive attitude, conflict resolution, time
management, teamwork, and interacting skills can
help you a lot in succeeding at your workplace.
4CAREER READINESS When you complete your college
and look ahead for a professional career, then
the skills you require are known as career
readiness skills. You can take various courses
regarding the same. Career readiness has a
meager difference from job readiness as the
former are the skills which you need at the
beginning that is the stage when you are just
entering the job market and are planning to look
for a job. Career readiness includes career
exploration, professionalism, personal financial
literacy, etc.
5- Students can take guidance regarding their future
through career conferences, career counseling,
learning about the pros and cons of various
courses and different job opportunities available
in the field of your interest, and then
developing the skills required to get that job
and succeed in it. - JOB READINESS
- You must learn about job readiness because this
training program is required in every phase of a
professional career. Starting from helping you to
realize what job you want, it helps in searching,
interviewing, and ultimately keeping that job for
a long time. - Job readiness can be understood simply as some
supplements which apart from preparing you to get
the desired job, helps you to become successful
in that particular job. It can be understood as
training of later stage i.e. training required to
excel in a job once you have got it. This
includes good communication skills training,
training on how to build an effective resume, and
how to prove yourself in the interviews. These
skills can be inculcated through various training
programs consisting of webinars, discussions, and
other ways.
6This is also different from work readiness in the
way that work readiness skills are more general
whereas job readiness skills are job oriented.
They can be different for different jobs as per
the demand of the job. For example, work
readiness skills like being a good time manager
is generally helpful in every field, but for a
data entry operator job, you require a
job-related skill of fast and accurate typing.
