Companion Care Services
  • Providing companion care services are a service
that many elderly and handicapped individuals may
require occasionally. Companion care is defined
as assisting an adult in carrying out activities
of daily living that are not typical for that
individual. The services provided may include
    shopping, meal preparation, transportation,
    companionship, bathing, medical treatment or
assistance with toileting. These services should
be arranged by the patient's family or friends.
For those requiring more prolonged in-home care,
a long-term nursing care facility may be
    recommended.

Elderly Home Care Services
  • With advances in the field of geriatric medicine,
more elderly citizens are experiencing medical
conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia,
Parkinson's disease and other serious cognitive
problems that affect their ability to dress
themselves, talk, walk, bathe or otherwise cope
with their environment. Elderly companion care
services can assist the elderly with activities
of daily living. They may involve helping the
disabled retiree or the elderly homeowner to take
his or her bath giving him or her personal
caretaker to assist with toilet training
arranging his or her medication assisting in
dressing and grooming. Likewise, services may
also include housekeeping duties such as dusting,
vacuuming, preparing linens and cleaning the
    senior's personal bathroom.

Home Care Service
  • For those elderly and disabled who need help with
activities of daily living, there is home care
services designed to meet the needs of these
    special individuals. These services include
    assistance with bathing and dressing,
    transportation, eating, medication management,
walking, hygiene and related tasks. Home care
services for the elderly include assistance with
everyday personal care tasks including dressing,
bathing, hair cutting, hair brushing, and
shaving, preparing meals and shopping. Some home
care services for the elderly also offer medical
consultation or advice in medical matters such as
medical insurance and diet. Others include
helping the seniors avoid or reduce hazards in
their homes such as fire, slipping and falling
    and emergency escape routes.

Non-Medical Home Care Services
  • There are also non-medical home care services for
the elderly and those who have disabilities that
require assistance with daily activities. These
    services can include grooming, housekeeping,
    laundry, shopping, transportation and errands.
These services can vary depending on the needs of
    each individual. However, most caregivers
providing this type of non-medical home care
    services are registered nurses. Other
professionals who can provide this type of care
    include, physically challenged adults,
    developmentally disabled adults, Alzheimer's
    caregivers and home health aides.

  • Many seniors rely heavily on their loved ones to
provide the care that they need. However, many
seniors experience feelings of loneliness and
depression due to their physical limitations. The
introduction of nursing home Caregiver Agency and
other assisted living options has made it
possible for seniors to remain in their own homes
but receive necessary medical care that most
health care providers can't provide. Home care
and nursing home care services can improve the
quality of life for seniors by providing
    personalized medical care.
