For everyone, 2020 has been one of the most
difficult year because of the hazardous and still
ongoing COVID pandemic. Coronavirus has made life
difficult for everyone, and it severely affected
the aging population. Studies show that COVID is
more deadly and contagious for people above the
age of 60 years. Many old age people have been
under self-quarantine for quite a long time, and
this isolation has also taken a toll on their
mental health.

times. Further, lets have a look at some
important tips that can be used for keeping the
mental health of old aging people intact during
this pandemic. Stay connected socially It's
true that during this pandemic, people went into
isolation not for weeks but for months to stay
safe from the Corona Virus. But we are living in
the digital why not use it for the benefit of
keeping in touch with a friend even from home.
Make some time from your day to day schedule and
call your buddies, your children, and
grandchildren.Rather than just making a
telephone call use social media, and video chat
with them. Its really a good way to be socially
active and keep your mind stress free by talking
to loved ones. At our facility of patient care
services in kalyan we encourage our patients to
talk to their relatives and friend at least twice
a day so that they dont get bored.

Keep Check on Diet Do Exercise Because of
total isolation and lockdown, most of the old age
are at home. Usually, before the pandemic old age
people often go to walk in the evening, stay
active a little more, but the situation is
completely different now. With restricted or no
movement the anxiety level of old people are
increasing. Hence it is very important for them
to participate in some kind of in-house exercise,
play some simple indoor games.Eating habits are
also a major concern for old age people. Because
of staying at home this much some have lost the
appetite whereas some are eating too much. This
can have a very negative impact on the health of
the elderly. Therefore it becomes very crucial
for old people to eat a balanced diet as per
their daily calorie consumption and energy
required for day to day task. Being patient care
taker in kalyan we at Karmabhumi pay special
attention to the diet of the patient and make
them participate in physical exercises as well as
some mental exercise via games like chess etc.
