Introduction
For most of us these days, our phones act as a
precious archive. Our phones gallery holds
sentimental values and professional information,
like the video of a baby girls first steps,
selfies from a memorable first date, or important
conversations from a WhatsApp group, emails,
contacts, and whatnot. Fortunately, you can
easily back up the data on your Android, so if
your phone is lost, dead, or stolen, you will
still have access to it all.

Back up All the Photos in Your Android to Google
Photos
No one can deny that the photos stored on our
phones are probably the most important thing for
us. Losing all of those or maybe even one-fourth
of them can be a nightmare. But luckily, its
super easy to back them up to avoid any
possibility of losing those precious memories,
all thanks to the power of Google Photos. In case
the Google Photos app hasnt been installed on
your Android device, then you can simply download
it from the Play Store. Once your phone has the
Google Photos app ready to use, follow the steps
below to ensure that your snapshots are
automatically backed up to the cloud.

  • Go to the Google Photos app.
  • Tap on your profile picture icon located at the
    top right corner, then select Photos Settings
    from the menu that opens up.
  • Then tap on Backup sync and push its slider
    to the On position.
  • Now, you will find the option named Upload
    size, from where you can choose between High
    Quality and Original Quality. We recommend
    uploading the images at High Quality, as it wont
    eat much of your spaIt is also recommended to set
    off the Mobile data usage  option and use the
    Wi-Fi connectivity to upload. As backing up your
    photos using the mobile data will simply drain
    your data.

Back up All the Contacts in Your Android to
Google
If there is anything on your phone that comes
ahead of photos, are your contacts. Thankfully,
with Google, backing up all the contacts is a
breeze. Follow the instructions below to be sure
that your contacts are added to your Google
account.
  • Navigate to the Settings on your mobile device.
  • Tap on Users Accounts.
  • Select your Google account.
  • In the list that appears, make sure that the
  • slider for contacts is in the On position.
  • By doing so, you just made sure that all the
    old/new contacts on your phone will be synced
    with your Google account.

Back up WhatsApp Chats and Photos/Videos to
Google Drive
  • WhatsApp is one of the most used messaging
    apps and stores a lot of important information in
    the form of text messages and media. Oftentimes,
    we find ourselves going back to an age-old
    conversation to find some piece of information,
    or maybe a screenshot that you once shared with a
    friend has something to do now. Fortunately,
    there is a way to back up all your WhatsApp
    content every night automatically. Follow the
    instructions below to make sure your WhatsApp
    data is saved and secure
  • Go to WhatsApp.
  • Tap on the triple-dot icon located at the top
    right corner and select Settings.
  • Then tap on Chats, followed by Chat backup.
  • Now, tap on Back up to Google Drive to set it
    to Daily.
  • Make sure that you have set Back up over to
    Wi-Fi and not on Cellular to avoid burning your
    mobile data.
  • If you want to back up your videos in the chats,
    then push the slider named Include videos to
    the On position.
