What are the medical flight costs for a patient
transport?

• Unfortunately, this question does not have a
  single, general answer, as the cost depends on
  several factors.
• Therefore, we would like to provide you with a
  brief insight into the cost of an air ambulance
  flight

Flight path

• The cost of an air ambulance depends primarily on
  the distance between the point of departure and
  the destination.
• The prices, however, do not increase directly in
  line with the distance travelled, but are
  determined individually by our team of advisers.

Patient's condition

• The health-care professionals and the equipment
  needed must be chosen according to the patient's
  condition.
• An emergency flight at sea level may be required,
  depending on the diagnosis, at a cabin pressure
  equal to the air pressure on the ground, raising
  the time of the flight and hence the cost of
  transporting the patient.

Short Notice

• As the number of ambulance aircraft are in
  permanent use, their availability must be taken
  into account at the time of booking and, in any
  case , different approach routes may be possible.
  
• This could have a positive impact on air
  ambulance costs if an aircraft is situated very
  close to the departure point.
• It is much safer and more cost-effective,
  logistically, to schedule an air ambulance flight
  as far ahead as possible.

  also depends on the number of accompanying
  passengers.

  ambulance ride.

Ground transportation

• In addition to the air ambulance flight itself,
  the preparation of appropriate ground
  transportation in an ambulance or emergency
  vehicle is also necessary , for example, for the
  transport from the hospital to the airport.
• For helicopter flights, this is not necessary.
• Please notice that the cost of an overseas
  emergency vehicle will also vary significantly.
• Long ambulance journeys may be required,
  depending on where the patient is staying, which
  would affect the overall cost.
