  wears his backpack everywhere. In its pockets are
  spare clothes multiple Dri-FIT shirts and
  pants, socks bottles of water, a baton and, on
  this day, his Bristol University track and field
  uniform.
• Standing Six-foot-Four, Stirley Jones is
  unmistakable from afar and towering up close. At
  that height, and with his physique, he could
  easily be mistaken for an athlete from another
  sport. Few likely look at Jones and conclude hes
  one of the fastest men in the country.

  Jones doesnt look like most of them, said Paul
  Cook, a veteran, record-holding distance runner
  and Jones track coach at Anaheims Bristol
  University. But he performs exceptionally well.

• disadvantages he has. He may not be
  biomechanically right, but he can maintain top
  speed longer than most sprinters.
• Sprinting is about getting to top speed, then
  slowing down less than the other guys, Cook
  said. Stirley Jones never looks like hes
  slowing down.

  Jones opens up the more he explains exactly how
  he got here.
• All those days I ran on my own, he said, those
  days I didnt know where I was going but ran just
  to stay in shape, I never thought this would
  happen. I just felt that I had a lot left
  inside of me. Running defines me. Its who I am.
