Solve your BMW Failing Brake Master Cylinder in Louisville

Description:

The master cylinder is the key component of BMW’s braking system. It is activated by depressing the brake pedal. Contaminate brake fluid, low levels of brake fluid, brake pedal abnormalities, illuminated check engine light, brake drag- are the typical symptoms of a defective master cylinder. For most of the part, issues with the brake master cylinder are resolved by replacing the component entirely. Since its installation procedure is a bit complicated quest, hence it is advisable to hire a certified BMW technician for the replacement. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Solve your BMW Failing Brake Master Cylinder in Louisville

1
SOLVE YOUR BMWS FAILING BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IN
LOUISVILLE
2
The brake master cylinder is one of the most
important components found in your BMWs braking
system.
3
It's a common feature for both disc and drum
brakes.
4
When you step on the brake pedal to slow down,
the braking system uses a brake master cylinder
to slow down or stop the vehicle.
5
Working principle of a brake master cylinder
Your BMWs brake master cylinder mainly converts
the mechanical energy into kinetic energy.
6
It transfers the force exerted on the brake pedal
into hydraulic pressure.
7
Whenever the brakes are applied, the cylinder
acts as the main valve and pushes brake fluid
into the brake lines.
8
As a result, the brake calipers are forced to
squeeze the brake pads against the rotor.
9
This happens with very little effort because the
brake lines and wheel cylinders are always filled
with brake fluid.
10
So, when the brake pedal is depressed, the piston
attached to it is pushed into the cylinder and
the brake fluid passes through the braking system
to the wheels.
11
Symptoms of a failing brake master cylinder
Like all mechanical and hydraulic devices, the
master cylinder will eventually wear out.
12
The master cylinder needs to work properly and
should be regularly inspected.
13
Some of the common symptoms of a failing brake
master cylinder are
14
Contaminated brake fluid
The inlets and the outlets of a BMWs master
cylinder are intact with rubber seals.
15
These seals gradually get hardened and allows
moisture to enter into the brake fluid through
the hydraulic lines.
16
These factors lead to contamination of the brake
fluid and turn its color to dark brown or black
color.
17
Abnormal brake pedal
The brake pressure required for the braking
system is supplied by the master cylinder only.
18
The abnormalities in your BMWs brake pedal can
be the result of internal leakage of the brake
oil.
19
The broken seals do not allow the cylinder to
sustain the amount of brake pressure applied to
it.
20
Low brake fluid level
The brake fluid is stored in the reservoir
attached to the master cylinder and the
connection passage is protected by a rubber
grommet.
21
These grommets sustain the regular pressure of
the brake fluid and the brake pedal.
22
However, over time the rubber can get hard and
break down to allow leakage of the brake oil.
23
What should you do in Louisville?
Mostly, the problems with the brake master
cylinder are fixed by replacing the master
cylinder completely.
