Driving Under the Influence
California has zero tolerance for towards driving
under the influence. If you are underage and have
any amount of alcohol in your system (over
0.01), you may be charged and face penalties.

Penalties
  • Under California Vehicle Code, all underaged
    drivers who have alcohol Level in their system at
    the moment they are pulled over will face the
    following penalties
  • BAC level of 0.01
  • BAC level between 0.05 - 0.07
  • BAC level 0.08
  • Possession of alcohol

  • BAC level of 0.01 - Will be penalized by a
    one-year license suspension.
  • BAC level between 0.05 - 0.07 - Will be
    suspended for one year (license suspension), face
    fines and alcohol education programs.
  • BAC level 0.08 - Facing misdemeanor and
    criminal charges, drivers license suspension,
    probation time, penalties and fees, up to 6
    months of jail time, alcohol education programs
    and other programs of recovery.
  • Possession of alcohol - If a minor has alcohol
    inside the vehicle, he/she may face fines up to
    1,000, vehicle impoundment, one year drivers
    license suspension. A minor is allowed to carry
    alcohol inside the vehicle only when in the
    presence of an adult or if the alcohol bottle is
    sealed and untouched.
