How to Fix the CDVD READ ERROR in PCSX2 Emulator
  • The CDVD READ ERROR appears in the PCSX2
emulators precisely when you try to use it to
load and play your favorite PlayStation games.
The same error can appear in the various versions
of the PS emulators no matter what game you are
loading and trying to play on the emulator. This
error can be a pain since it is pretty hard to be
resolved without having any prior knowledge about
the technology of the computer system.

  • If the previous method failed to solve the CDVD
READ ERROR issue on your device, then follow
    these steps
  • Head to PCSX2 Emulator and mount the PS2 BIOS if
    prompted.
  • When you see the main program window as well as
the Program log, head to Config.
  • Then go to Video (GS).
  • Click on Plugin Settings.
  • In the GSdx Settings window, open the drop-down
menu beside to Renderer and then select it
    as Direct3D9 (Hardware).

Solution3 Making an ISO of Your Game DVD
  • By using the ImgBurn program, you can create the
ISO of the game DVD you are trying to play in the
PS emulator. After the ISO file is created, you
can simply load it on the emulator on your PC.
See these steps to quickly make it happen
  • Explore an internet browser and the head to
    https//www.imgburn.com/index.php?actdownload.
  • Now start the download and sit tight until the
    process is finished.
  • Then open the ImgBurn installation .exe file and
obey the prompts on your screen to finish the
    installation process.
  • Now reboot the PC to successfully setup the
    ImgBurn program.
  • Next, navigate to the Imageburn app and then head
    to Create Image from Disk.
  • After that, pick a file path where you wish to
save ISO and then press on the most appropriate
button to start the ISO creation process.
  • Once the file is created, head to the PCSX2
emulator and then head to CDVD using the top
    menu.
  • Head to ISO.
  • Then navigate to CDVD following by ISO Selector.
  • Click on the Browse option.
  • Browse to the newly created ISO file and then
double-click it to insert it to the PCSX2
    emulator.
  • When the file loads successfully to
the PCSX2 emulator, head to System from the upper
    menu.
  • Head to Boot CDVD in the drop-down options.
  • The game would now run without any issues, and
the CDVD READ ERROR should be resolved even while
    playing the same title.

Solution 4 Use DirectX11 over the GSDX Renderer
  • By choosing the DirectX11 instead of GSDX
Renderer, you can flawlessly play your favorite
title even that one with the CDVD READ ERROR.
Heres how to change the GSDX Renderer to
    DirectX11
  • Head to PCSX2 emulator and then navigate
to Config form the upper menu.
  • Choose the Video(GS) option and press on Plugin
    Settings.
  • In the GSdx Settings, open the drop-down beside
to Renderer and then select it as Direct3D11
    (Hardware).
  • Then head to Ok to save your changes.
  • Exit from the PCSX2 emulator.
  • Now open the emulator again and run the game,
    which was showing errors.
  • The CDVD READ ERROR would be now terminated
