What is Medicare?
  • Medicare is the federal health insurance program
    for
  • People who are 65 or older
  • Certain younger people with disabilities
  • People with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent
kidney failure requiring dialysis or a
    transplant, sometimes called ESRD)
  • Medicare is partly funded by payroll taxes from
most employers, employees and all people who are
self-employed. The Medicare program offers basic
coverage to help pay for things like doctor
    visits, hospital stays and surgeries.

skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some

Medicare Part C
  • Part C helps pay for hospital and medical costs,
plus more. Part C plans are only available
through private health insurance companies. Part
C called as Medicare Advantage plans. This covers
everything Parts A and B cover, plus more.
  • Part C plans put a limit on what you pay out of
pocket in a given year, too. Some of these plans
cover preventive dental, vision and hearing
    costs. Original Medicare doesnt.
