9 Things You Need to Do After a Truck Accident
2
Getting involved in a truck accident could change
your life. You may end up with serious impairing
injuries and may be unable to enjoy life as you
used to. However, you should still do everything
you can to recover at least some part of your
life.
3
Here are Things That You Need to Do After a Truck
Accident.

Call 911
Following an accident, take out your phone and
call 911. The police will arrive as quickly as
they can, with the ambulance car to treat your
injuries. Never skip calling the police as their
help is essential (continue reading to find out
why).

Move To Safety
If you have not done it already, it is always
wise to move away from the street and find a safe
place to sit at and wait for the police to arrive.
4
Gather Information
If able to, speak with the other driver and
gather their personal and contact information.
Gather as much information as you can about the
truck as well (who owns it, who owns the load,
the trailer). Things to ask for include
The Drivers Full Name
Contact information
Drivers license and registration numbers
The Drivers Street Address
Walking On The Road
5
Talk To Witnesses
If there are any at the scene, approach them and
talk to them. Explain to them their value to your
case, and ask them to testify at a later date. If
they agree to, get their contact information and
pass it on to your attorney. If you do not have
an attorney, consult with a Los Angeles Truck
Accident Attorney and schedule your initial free
consultation to receive a free case evaluation.
6

Treat Your Injuries
When the ambulance arrives, let them know of your
injuries and let them treat you immediately. If
they want to take you to the hospital, do not
refuse it as it may impact your claim in a
negative way.

Take Photos
Take out your phone and snap a few photos of the
scene. Start with

  1. Your Vehicle

2. The Other Vehicle
3. Your Injuries
4. The Surrounding Area

Go To the Hospital
Without going to the hospital, there is no legal
way of proving that your injuries came from that
accident. Let a medical professional examine you
and treat your injuries. You can use their report
as evidence to prove that you got injured in the
accident.
8
Joseph M. Lovretovich
Now that you have both a copy of the police
report and the doctors report, your attorney can
start working on your case. These two reports are
essential for laying the foundation of a strong
case. Speak with Truck Accident Attorneys in Los
Angeles and let them file a claim on your behalf
while you focus on your full and quick recovery.
You will be in good hands.
