Client Challenges
  • 2D working environment leading to unnecessary
    human errors and rework.
  • Repetitive designing tasks consuming excessive
    time and development cycle.
  • Lacking alignment of designing with shop floor
needs, quality and need for prototyping.

4
  • The retail store furniture manufacturer was
    facing challenges in incorporating manufacturing
needs to fabrication drawings and models when he
contacted us. Our furniture design engineers with
their expertise and rich experience translated 2D
to 3D CAD and implemented DriveWorks to eliminate
the challenges of elongated design cycles.
  • A preliminary examination of 2D AutoCAD drawings
and manufacturing capabilities were studied to
define the manufacturing needs in drawings.

5
  • 2D drawings were converted to 3D models with DFM
needs to reduce the ECOs for retail display
    furniture and fixtures.
  • To address the challenge of lengthy design
    development cycle, our design automation
    specialists implemented DriveWorks.
  • Implementation of DriveWorks ensured reduction of
engineering lead time and enabled custom design
    manufacturing.
  • Team also provided a defect tracking and process
quality checks to strengthen and boost the
product delivery process. The retail furniture
manufacturer could establish a design cycle that
was quicker than traditional process, ensured
quality with fewer efforts, and designs passed
    prototype tests by nearly 100.
