The Hand and Upper Limb Surgery Discipline of
Sunshine Bone and Joint institute provides care
for all cases of Upper limbs, hand and wrist.
Treatment for scaphoid fractures is provided with

dislocations and complex cases including crush

rheumatoid arthritis are also corrected by

Trauma Surgery and Accident Care Centre
The Sunshine Bone and Joint Institute has a
dedicated Trauma Surgery and Accident Care
Centre. It is a level 1 trauma center. The center
deals with all complex accidental and trauma
cases that are referred to the center from across
the state. There are three units in the trauma
surgery and accident care center. Senior
consultants who deals with trauma are supported
by junior consultants, registrars and
post-graduates (DNB). The process of care is
streamlined and the consultants are distributed
accordingly to ensure dedicated care and focused
attention to the patients. The unit wise
distribution and streamlining ensures that the
Patients during their follow-up visits and
consultations meet the same team that treated
them. The patients feel comfortable in
approaching the consultants whom they met before
and thus communication gap between the patients
and consultants get reduced. And, patients can
establish good rapport with the surgeons. The
level 1 trauma center has experienced, skilled
and expert surgeons. They manage complex
