  • Undoubtedly, there are various benefits
    of Hungarian Passport. Operating a business in
    Hungary indeed is flexible and uncomplicated. If
    one manages some business in Hungary, he/she must
    be aware of the days when individuals are not
    required to work. Even as a student, one should
    be conscious of as to when they need to travel
    with books. Saturdays and Sundays are usually
    rest days while Monday to Friday is exhausting.
    Despite weekends, Hungary is off on other days
    because of the events and festivals taking place.
    Here is the list of public and national holidays
    in Hungary.
  • JANUARY 1st (Wednesday) New Years Day is a
    public holiday.
  • MARCH 15th (Sunday) Memorial Day observes the
    anniversary of the 1848 revolution against the
    Austrian Habsburg Empire. Speeches and music
    events are conducted where many people come
    dressed in national colors.
  • APRIL 10th-13th (Friday Monday) Good Friday
    and Easter Monday are national holidays in
    Hungary marked by a long-aged tradition. The men
    sprinkle perfume on women. In return, the men
    receive Easter eggs or coins as gifts.

  • MAY 1st (Friday) Labour Day/ May Day indicates
    the start of spring and lauds the workers for
    their hard work. It is celebrated with concerts,
    rallies and, parades. 
  • MAY 31st-JUNE 1st(Sunday Monday) Pentecost is a
    sacred day that is observed 50 days after Easter
    Sunday.

AUGUST 20th (Thursday) Known as the day of the
new bread, it commemorates Hungarys first king
and celebrates the foundation of Hungary
Christian State. OCTOBER 23rd (Friday) Celebrate
d with exhibitions and speeches, Memorial Day of
the 1956 revolution is observed to celebrate the
victory of Hungarians over Soviet
repression.   NOVEMBER 1st(Sunday) All Saints
Day is commemorated in the memory of the dead.
Family and friends decorate graves in Christian
cemeteries. DECEMBER 25th-26th (Friday
Saturday) The festival of Christmas is
celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and devotion.
People gather around and visit their friends and
families.  All these are the days when an
individual can have some rest from his/her weary
routine and celebrate the Hungarian culture.
Apart from these festivities, there are some
short days when the employees are allowed to
leave early.  DECEMBER 24th (Thursday) Christmas
Eve

DECEMBER 31st (Thursday) New Years Eve These
are the days when stores close early and
transport comes to halt at around noon. People
come together on these occasions to celebrate
their time with their nearest and dearest. There
may even be a possibility when the employees may
take off on these days. Thus, individuals running
the businesses should plan the work burden and
everyday tasks keeping into consideration these
