What is sambar?
-Sambar is a famous south Indian recipe -It is
basically made with rentio toor dal, vegetables
and spices -Fenugreek, curry leaves, turmeric is
used as a spice -Toor dal is used as base
ingredient to make sambar -The consistency of
the sambhar is thicker

What is kuzambu?
-Kuzambu is made with vegetables, coconut and
dried lentil balls and spices depend on the type
of recipe -The consistency of the kuzambu is
thinner than sambhar and thicker than
rasam -Generally tamarind is used as spices to
make kuzambu but there are some verities of
kuzambu in which yogurt is also used as base

What is kootu?
  • -There are two variations of kootu, one is
    similar to sambar and another one is with kuzambu
  • -The ratio of vegetables used in this recipe is
    more than sambar and kuzambu
  • -Due to more vegetables used the consistency of
    kootu is more than these two recipes
  • -For the defining spice pepper or cumin is used
    while fenugreek is rarely used
