  • The aim of teaching and lecturing is common that
    is educating the students.
  • The field of educating students with the help of
    these mediums is respected all over the world.
  • Although both these professions are quite similar
    there are some distinct differences between
    teacher and lecturer.

Where Do They Work?

  • The duty of a Teacher is to teach the students in
    school. So, the teacher is a person who teaches
    the children in school. Teachers have to deal
    with primary and secondary education levels.
  • Lecturer works in colleges and institutes. The
    main task of a lecturer is teaching and
    researching. The students of bachelors and
    masters degree levels are taught by lecturers.

  • A Teacher can be progressed on senior posts like
    Head Teacher, Counsellor, Vice-Principal or
    Principal.
  • A Lecturer can be progressed on senior levels
    like Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer, Assistant
    Professor, Associate Professor and then Professor.

Eligibility

  • To become a Teacher in schools, a candidate must
    have to clear the bachelors degree with B.Ed
    certificate. It is mandatory to have this
    certificate to teach.
  • To become a Lecturer, you can apply for the UGC
    NET Exam which is a National Level Test to check
    the eligibility for the lectureship.
