INTRODUCTION

• ?Laser eye surgery/laser vision correction,
  commonly called LASIK OR Lasik is a treatment to
  correct myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism
• The surgery can help to reduce the need for
  contact lenses or glasses in patients by
  improving their vision

What to expect after the LASIK ?

• After the LASIK there will be one final checkup
  before going home. Your eyes will be temporarily
  dry
• Patients usually describe their eyesight as if
  looking through water, steam or fog, immediately
  after the surgery!

• You don't have to worry if your vision is blurry
  for a few hours, it is a sign of your eyes began
  to heal!!
• Your doctor will provide you with eye drops to
  use according to the instruction and goggles to
  wear while sleeping, to prevent rubbing your
  eyes.

Resuming the normal activities after Lasik!

• Driving
• You cannot drive on your own back home after the
  surgery
• Tips for faster healing. You will have an eye
  test after the surgery, on that day you can
  confirm whether you can drive immediately or not!

• Showering
• It is perfectly all right to have a shower the
  same day after the surgery, but you ave to more
  careful! Avoid getting soap and water in your
  eyes for at least a week.!
• Returning to work
• Generally, you can get back to work within two or
  more days after the surgery but ensure to work in
  a clean environment. Do not let your eyes dry,
  use the prescribed eye drops.

• It is best to wait for at least a week to wear
  makeup, else you can wear makeup but strictly
  avoid it getting in your eyes! Resume exercise,
  sports and hot tub swimming for at least a week

Tips for faster healing

• Limit your routine/daily activities for at least
  a week
• Limit activities require more strain like
  reading, TV and mobile watching etc. Also, avoid
  exercise. sports gardening and other activities
  that could shake the body and head

• Avoid touching/rubbing your eyes
• This is very crucial, never rub your eyes for at
  least a week after the surgery. Wear goggles to
  avoid risks
• Never miss your followup appointments
• For most favourable long-term results, follow
  your doctors directions to the letter

• Use the prescribed eye drops
• It is crucial that you apply the drops as
  instructed by your doctor
• Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly before
  applying the drops
• Stay in a clean environment and wear sunglasses
  while you are out or even indoor.

• It may take a few weeks to months to accomplish
  your full visual results. Most patients
  experience a radical improvement in their vision
  after the surgery
