Fighting Household Bacteria Part One
2
  • The reality is that germs are everywhere and are
impossible to avoid entirely, and they are often
present in homes. While most of these bacteria
wont harm you, some can be quite dangerous and
its these you want to prevent from breeding in
the sanctity of your home. Here are a few ways in
which you can fight household bacteria and
prevent you or any other members of your
    household from becoming sick
  • Regularly wash your bath towels
  • The minute your bath towel becomes damp, the
minute it can become a potential breeding ground
    for germs and bacteria.

3
  • Fungi, dead skin cells and secretions from
various places on our bodies can easily be
transferred to our towels and begin multiplying,
so its imperative that towels are dried
thoroughly after each use and are washed at least
    once a week.
  • Regularly wash your bed sheets
  • While your bed sheets may not get as damp as your
bath towel, youd still be surprised (and
doubtless mildly disgusted!) to know what types
of germs and harmful pathogens might be lurking
on the surface, from sweat, sputum and other
bodily excretions to dead skin cells and more.
Dust mites are also prevalent in bed linen and
can aggravate or even cause, allergies and
asthma. To try and control the bacterial
community on your bedsheets, you should try to
wash them at least twice a month.

4
  • Use mattress and pillow allergy protectors
  • Recent studies have found that feather and
synthetic pillows ranging in age from 1 year to
20, can contain between 4 and 17 different
species of fungus! The same can probably be said
for your mattress, but if you purchase waterproof
allergy protectors for both, you should be able
to eliminate the threat that such bacteria pose
    to your health.
  • Dont neglect your kitchen cleaning sponge or
    cloth
  • These items are notorious for being breeding
grounds for germs, and the longer they remain wet
and warm, the more the bacteria will be
    encouraged to thrive.

5
  • Some of the bacteria can be harmful to your
    health, including Salmonella, E.Coli and
Listeria, which can all cause mild to severe gut
    and skin infections.
  • Simply rinsing the sponge or cloth after every
use will not suffice, it should be disinfected
thoroughly with a strong anti-bacterial solution
    such as diluted bleach.
  • There are many more ways in which you can fight
household bacteria, but if it all seems like too
much work for you to fit into your busy schedule,
why not seek help from a professional cleaning
company who will ensure that your home is
hygienically clean from top to bottom, and as
    often as you wish?
