INFORMATION
  • Silicon rubber is the name we give silicon
    products because of its rubber like structure.
  • Silicon rubber contains, in addition to silicon,
    oxygen, hydrogen and carbon.
  • Silicon itself is a polymer, which makes the
    silicon rubber largely polymer in nature.

    indefinitely.

    comfortably withstand temperatures of -60ºC
    -70ºC with some products able to bear
    temperatures as low as -100ºC.
  • This resistance to extreme heat and cold is one
    of the reasons for the popularity of silicon

CHEMICAL , OIL AND SOLVENT RESISTANCE

    high resistance to oils, chemicals and solvents.
  • While silicon rubbers resistance to oils may not
    be as good as certain other organic rubbers, its
    performance under high temperature puts it ahead
    of others.
  • It is largely unaffected by most chemicals and
    solvents, including polar organic compounds and
    dilute acids and bases.
  • Even in non-polar organic compounds, silicon will
    not easily decompose. Some solvents can soften
    the material.
  • Strong acids and bases will also adversely affect
    silicon. But on the whole, silicon has a far
    better resistivity than other rubbers.

FLAME RETARDANCY

    flame retardant, it shows better performance.
  • It produces no noxious gas or black smoke when
    burnt. This makes it a preferred component from
