  • Judgment Creditor

A judgment creditor is an individual who is
eligible to collect in a judgment. A judgment is
a decision by any state or federal court in which
an order is placed to pay money to another
party. The decision is binding enforceable by
the court that verdict came from. A judgment
creditor wins financial award against the
defaulter following the legal proceedings. If
youre dealing with debt collection, then take a
smart step against the defaulter get your money
back.
When you win a civil case, the opposing party
will not always pay the total amount of the
judgment the party might take the step back.

  • Steps to take

So, being a judgment creditor, you need to take
some additional steps. Here are some crucial
steps. Plan your strategy- In many places a
court gives a deadline to the losing party for
filing an appeal. If the debtor fails in this,
then he/she is only left with the option of
disclosing information about assets. Ask for your
money- If the defaulter is not in the situation
of making the whole payment then at this point
you need to negotiate. Negotiating at this point
can allow defaulters to pay the money in small,
manageable parts. File the satisfaction of
judgment once youre paid- Once you receive your
funds, file a satisfaction of judgment notice
with the court. The notice helps the court with
the closing date of the case.
