Title:

Why the Brakes are Causing Squealing Noise

Description:

Over time, the car brakes get worn out and start to produce different unusual grinding and squealing sounds. The actual reason for these sounds may be either a worn brake pad, corroded brakes or burnished brakes. It is required to check for the cause and get it fixed. Go through the mentioned show to know more about why the brakes are causing squealing noise. – PowerPoint PPT presentation

Title: Why the Brakes are Causing Squealing Noise

1
Why the Brakes are Causing Squealing Noise?
2
When you are driving the car, the brakes of your
car can make grinding, squealing and squeaking
noise.
3
The brakes are functioning in the car by pressing
the high friction material into the spinning
metal surface and cause noises due to the
vibrations and irregularities.
4
In general cars, the noises are natural and
reduced after a few times. But sometimes the
noises are constant and continue for a longer
time.
5
So, in some cars thin shims are placed behind
the pads which will lessen the noise and work as
a shock absorber for keeping the vibrations
passed from the pad.
6
The following points define the common causes
behind the squealing noise of the car.
7
Worn brake pad
8
Now the modern cars have a disc brake pad with a
metal tab which alerts the driver about the
lifespan of the car.
9
When the brake pad materials of the car are worn
out, the metal tabs start to drag on the metal
discs and cause squealing noise.
10
If the brakes are causing squealing noise after
30,000 to 60,000 miles, then it is normal and
doesn't cause any damages to the discs.
11
Corroded brakes
12
The brake discs are the raw and unfinished iron
part of the car which will rust easily. The
corroded brakes of the car sometimes make noise
when you first pull the car.
13
In the spring and fall season, the brakes are
corroded eventually because of the warm days and
cool nights can make the moisture.
14
Burnished brakes
15
If you are living in a metropolitan area, then
you need to make a lot of stops and go driving
which can put a great impact on the brakes.
16
By applying the brakes very frequently in bumper
to bumper traffic can polish the discs to a
mirror-like surface and burnish the pads.
17
When the brake pads of the car are burnished, it
will create a microscopic change to the friction
materials on the surface of the pad and cause
heat and squealing noise.
18
Other causes
19
The squealing noise coming from the car is due to
the vibrations of the discs, hitting of the
caliper and brake pads.
20
The brakes are making noise, but it will cause
the issues in the car when the parts start to
ring like a bell.
21
The squeal noise coming from the car is
persistent and stay in the car without
considering the traveling speed of the car.
22
Conclusion
23
When you will hear the squealing noises of the
car, inspect your car by a mechanic to determine
the real causes behind it.
24
The mechanic will first inspect the car to
determine the real causes of squealing sound from
your car and fix it accordingly.
