Machine Learning For Absolute Beginners

Description:

Machine learning is changing the way we design and use our technology. It has slowly spread it’s reach through our devices, from self-driving cars to even automated chatbots. To define machine learning in the simplest terms, it is basically the ability to equip computers to think for themselves based on the scenarios that occur. This is the basis of artificial intelligence. A complete guide to master machine learning concepts and create real world ML solutions – PowerPoint PPT presentation

R Programming For Absolute Beginners
2
Introduction
  • R is a programming language and free software
    environment for statistical computing and
graphics that is supported by the R Foundation
    for Statistical Computing.
  • R language is widely used among statisticians
and data miners for developing statistical
software and data analysis Polls, surveys of data
miners, and studies of scholarly literature
databases show that R's popularity has increased
    substantially in recent years.
  • As of June 2018, R ranks 10th in the TIOBE index,
a measure of popularity of programming languages.

3
History
R was created by Ross Ihaka and Robert
Gentleman at the University of Auckland, New
Zealand, and is currently developed by the R
Development Core Team, of which Chambers is a
member. R is named partly after the first names
of the first two R authors and partly as a play
on the name of S. The project was conceived in
1992, with an initial version released in 1995
and a stable beta version in 2000.
4
How Companies Are Using R
  • Ford uses R to improve the design of its
    vehicles
  • Basically, Twitter uses R to monitor user
    experience
  • The US National Weather Service uses R to
    predict severe flooding
  • The Human Rights Data Analysis Group uses R to
    quantify the impact of war
  • R is being used by The New York Times to create
    infographics
  • Google uses R to calculate the ROI of
    advertising campaigns

5
List of companies that uses R for analytics
  • TechCrunch
  • Google
  • Facebook
  • Genpact
  • Bing
  • Orbitz
  • ANZ
  • The New York Times
  • Thomas Cook
  • Accenture
  • Wipro
  • Mozilla
  • Novartis
  • Merck

6
Advantages of R Programming
  • Comprehensive statistical analysis package as
    new technology and ideas
  • R is open-source software. Hence anyone can use
    and change it
  • R is an open source
  • Run anywhere and at any time, and even sell it
    under conditions of the license
  • Good for GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows
  • R is cross-platform which runs on many operating
    systems
  • Welcome to provide bug fixes, code enhancements,
    and new packages
