Fear And Paying Taxes
2
  • April 15 means its time for most of us to give
the IRS its annual pound of flesh. Most of us
being the operative term. Tax time can be one of
the most stressful periods of the year for most
people, with individuals becoming seized with
fear, especially private contractors who receive
1099 MISC tax forms and who dont have any tax
taken out of their checks. Most contractors do
not hold any money back in savings for taxes,
have spent everything theyve made for the year
and have no idea what to do!
  • They dare not file their taxes late, let alone
question whether they should even be paying them
at all. But does it have to be this way, and what
is it that causes us to be so fearful of the big,
    bad IRS?

3
  • Why are we so afraid of the IRS?
  • Weve all heard of Leona Helmsley and Wesley
Snipes due to their being imprisoned for tax
evasion. The taxing agencies do a magnificent job
of scaring the hell out of using the imprisonment
of famous people by first persecuting them and
then broadcasting this on t.v. for the whole
country to see, thus creating more fear.
  • Perhaps one of the main reasons why so many of us
are fearful of The Service, is because we have
been programmed from a very young age to believe
we actually owe the tax and that the taxing
agencies are an invincible super power.

4
  • We all probably know someone who has had their
wages garnished or assets seized which is enough
to make just about anyone adopt misguided
assumption that these guys are cannot be beat.
  • The problem is like Helmsley and Snipes found
out, if you challenge them on the wrong grounds
you can end up in prison. Another reason behind
our irrational fear of the the taxing agencies,
is the fear of the unknown. Who knows anything
about the federal tax code which is made up of
over 75,000 pages and 60 million words? Who has
ever heard of anyone actually winning against a
    taxing agency?

5
  • Many people feel that they have no one to turn to
with their tax problems, and their friends,
family and colleagues are often so gripped with
fear about costly penalties or jail terms that
they are petrified to challenge them and continue
    to blindly pay them.
  • Should we be so afraid of the IRS?
  • They are due their respect, because they have
done one hell of a job brainwashing the public,
but the law is the law. If you dont owe the tax,
you should have no fear in filing your return
provided you do so in a manner which they
    understand and accept.

6
  • The fact is taxing agencies make a living off of
bullying and intimidating people and they have
gone unchecked for the most part for over a
    century and a half.
  • This however does not mean we have to live in
fear. We have every right to question whether we
    owe the taxes they claim.
  • You may already be aware that paying U.S. federal
income tax is entirely voluntary. How the issue
of voluntary is not what you think. The way it
really works is first they create an air of
patriotism and duty through their propaganda
machine Its your patriotic duty to pay your
    fair share.

7
  • The facts of whether you owe anything at all can
only be found in the federal income tax law,
Title 26 United States Code. What we have found
is that any money that you have earned while
working in the private sector is not subject to
federal income tax. It is that simple. Black and
    white. Cut and dry.
  • But who can you turn to if you want help and
support in filing your tax returns correctly and
staying the course when you do?

8
  • Seeking help from a professional tax service
    company
  • There are an abundance of companies who offer
support in getting you back into compliance
with taxing agencies if youre behind on paying
taxes. What we do is to first determine whether
you owe the tax at all and if we find you do not
we begin the process of recouping all state and
federal taxes paid for the current and previous
    two tax years.

to allow fear of a taxing agency prevent you from
challenging the right to file your tax returns
    correctly,
