Title: Common 3D printing mistakes

1
Common 3D printing mistakes
  • 3D printing refers to the process in which an
object is solidified to bring out a
three-dimensional effect. Since it is a
technology a lot of the things can go wrong while
    working with it.
  • Some of the major things that can cause a problem
    are as follows
  • Nozzle is too close to the printing surface
  • If the nozzle is too close to the printing
surface it is likely that the melted filament
will have room to escape. This can cause the loss
of the basic layers of the 3D print. Rising the
height of the nozzle and creating an angle will
help to overcome this problem. This problem can
also happen in reverse that if the nozzle is too
away the filament will not be able to touch the
printing surface and will escape and cause the
    model to be misalignments.

  • Blocked nozzle
  • Sometimes it can happen that the nozzle is
blocked and a small piece of filament is stuck in
it that doesnt allow melted filament to come
out. If its a small blockage its a quick and
easy process to cure it. But if the blockage is
big then we will have to go through a long
process to unblock the nozzle. The best way and
the safe way to do this is by calling the 3D
printing services Australia and they will
professionally take care of the job.
  • The printing tip missing the printing surface
  • Sometime due to wrong alignment of the nozzle the
printing bed can miss the printing surface. When
this happens a loud noise is produced which helps
to know that the printer is facing such problem.
Reasons that can cause this are misconfiguration,
wrong selection of printer etc. for fixing this
we can call the 3D printing services Australia
who are experts with all types of problems.

  • Broken filament
  • The filament can be full sometimes but the wire
can be broken. This can happen due to a lot of
reasons like direct heat or sunlight exposure,
cheap quality of filament used or with the
passage of time the filament can get old.
  • The steps to correct this can be removing the
filament in its usual normal way, if its stuck in
the nozzle we must heat the nozzle up and then
    remove it.
  • Stoppage in flow of molten filament
  • Sometimes during mid printing the filament will
stop to flow. This happens due to two main
reasons either something is wrong with the
filament or there is shortage of filament supply
or there is a problem or blockage in the nozzle
    itself.

  • Supporters fall apart
  • While printing in 3D some complex models will
require support and sometime these supports can
be very difficult to add and remove. The supports
are complex things and are very difficult to
    handle.
  • Messy layers
  • The first layer of the print can often not reach
our expectations and be a little weird. It can
happen that the 1st and the 2nd layer may simply
not stick to each other. Thus causing a
    problematic model.
  • Thus these can be seen as some of the major
problems aced during 3D printing from Australia
and can be solved with various small tips and
tricks. All we need to do is regular
    maintenance.
