1
Costs Associated with Studying in USA
2
Why USA?
  • USA is home to most of the worlds top ranking
    colleges
  • Exceptional educational infrastructure
  • Leading edge technology
  • Extensive options of educational programs with
    flexible curriculum
  • Pervasive support for international students

3
Cost Associated For Studying in USA
  1. Tuition Fee
  2. Accommodation rental
  3. Food and miscellaneous living costs
  4. Travel cost, including some recreational travel
  5. Phone, Internet and other utilities
  6. Entertainment

4
Tuition Fee
  • This is the bulk of your foreign education
expenses. In the USA , cost of studying is
certainly on the higher side compared to some
other countries, but it is well worth it for the
    excellent research and internship opportunities
    it opens up for you.
  • Tuition fees vary widely depending on the course
you take and the university you go to. Annual
tuition fees may range anywhere between 5000 and
    50,000.

5
Accommodation Rental
  • Accommodation types for students fall into three
    categories on-campus accommodation, off-campus
accommodation and living with a host family.
  • Living on-campus is the most expensive among
these, but if you want to be in the center of
student activity even after regular college
hours, it would be a great option for you.
  • Living with a host family is a good idea for
undergrad students as they get the local support
they need, but it is again slightly costlier than
    living off-campus.

6
Food And Miscellaneous Living Costs
  • Budget in at least 10,000 per year for the
basics like food and transportation within your
    city.
  • This cost will vary a little based on which state
    you are going to.

7
Travel Cost, Including Some Recreational Travel
  • Include the cost of flying to and from the US.
Return tickets to India during a non-peak-season
    may cost about 1500.
  • Besides traveling back home, you may want to
make the most of your stay in the States by
    exploring the cities around.
  • So do reserve some funds for that too!

8
Phone, Internet And Other Utilities
  • If you have never lived alone before, you will be
surprised by how much these apparently small
    costs add up to.
  • Plan for them in advance to avoid any bad
    surprises.

9
Entertainment
  • Student life is incomplete without the weekend
    fun.
  • After long weeks of hard work, you will need some
time to chill with your new friends, and however
prudent you try to be here, there is no avoiding
a bit of expenditure on rejuvenation drills.
