Step-By-Step Instructions for Brother Drum
Replacement
Step 1 Turn on your Brother printer. Allow it to
cool itself by leaving for at least 10
minutes. Step 2 Open its front cover. Don't
touch any part to prevent degradation to print
quality as all of its parts are extremely
delicate that must be handled carefully. Step 3
Take out drum unit and toner cartridge from the
assembly carefully as it may contain toner. Step
4 Press the lock lever and down and take out
toner cartridge from drum unit. Step 5 Unpack
original Brother Drum unit DR420. Step 6 Firmly
put the toner cartridge into new drum unit DR420
to lock into its place. Lifting of lock lever
will confirm installation of cartridge in a
proper manner. Step 7 Reinstall the toner
cartridge and drum unit back into printer. Step
8 Close front cover.

Reset Life Of Brother Drum Cartridge
Resetting of drum unit is also an integral part
of install else its software will detect the new
drum unit as the old one. To reset, follow simple
steps For HL printers Push and hold down
"Go" button for few seconds until you see all the
LEDs lightening up. Once all the LEDs are lit,
release "Go" button. Make sure that the drum
light is off. Your drum unit counter has been
reset.

For MFC and DCP Multiple Function
Printers Open front door and push "clear" or
"option" button. You'll see two options "Change
drum, 1-Yes, 2-No". Press 1 to accept. It will
reset the drum life. Close the front door.If
