Secret Santa
It's that time of year again. You're rushed off
your feet tracking down this year's must-have
toy (of course you didn't realise it was the
must-have toy until after everywhere had sold
out), making sure you've ordered a large enough
turkey (but not too large for the oven) and
putting in extra shifts at work to cover the
pre-Christmas surge.

Secret Santa
Many workplaces run a Secret Santa. There are
two main ways to do it. Either everyone buys a
gift and everyone takes a gift (the easiest for
all involved but the quickest way to make sure
everyone gets one of chocolate, wine or bath
salts) or everyone is given the name and has to
buy that one person a present. This is where it
gets tricky especially if you are responsible
for handing the present over - as your recipient
is going to know who their Secret Santa is. No
hiding behind anonymity. And as you will have to
face them in the New Year you don't want the
gift to be a total flop. In this case you need
to take drastic action immediately to get the
right gift.

Pigeonhole Your Person
First things first you need to know your target,
observe your Name and identify their likes and
dislikes. Especially if you are thinking of
copping out and buying chocolates or wine.
Although you're best avoiding these unless you
know for certain what they like. Once you've
got a clear idea of who you're buying for you're
ready to go shopping. Have a good look around
and sooner or later something will jump out and
make you think That's the ideal present. But
if all that sounds like far too much work when
you've still not bought a present for your
Significant Other you're in luck because we've
put together a list of five items that will fit
the bill regardless of who you're giving them to.

You Drew...
The Traditionalist
There's always someone who you know is looking
forward to a Christmas involving the Queen's
Speech, Brussels Sprouts and Getting The Whole
Family Together. You can be sure they're going
to receive enough chocolates to build a small
house in the forest and enough booze to launch
an Armada. Play up to their traditional ideals
by getting them a traditional parlour game with
a modern twist. The Charades Dipstick set
consists of a tube of sticks each with a
different charade to act out. Split into teams
and race against the clock to see who can win
the most sticks. Also a good option for Nurses
with a sense of humour

You Drew...
The Disorganised One
They never seem to have a pen and their desk is
a nightmare of papers and files. Help them find
somewhere to store some of their little bits and
pieces with this cheery Rubik's Cube inspired
storage box. Although they won't be able to
solve it they will be able to find their
paperclips. If they remember where they put
them. Also a good option for retro-lovers and
jokers

You Drew...
The Organised One
Your Secret Santa recipient is always on time.
They know exactly where everything is and can
locate a file in under 10 seconds due to their
efficient filing system. Their desk is never
untidy and they never forget anything They
always look neat and well-groomed and make the
rest of you feel shabby and unwashed. Give them
something they'll actually use with a smart
notebook and pen set such as the Holy Chic
Notebook and Pen adorned with a golden kiss. The
notebook is kept closed with an elastic band
ensuring that the pages don't get torn and
crumpled in their bag. Although it's likely it'll
be put in its own little pocket so it's easy to
find. Also a good option for budding novelists
and doodlers

The Funny One
The office joker is perhaps the hardest one to
buy a good Secret Santa for. You know you can't
get away with anything generic but you don't
want to make a mistake and risk your gift being
the butt of jokes for the whole of January. This
cheery Brussel Sprout Wonderball is a humorous
gift in its own right but unwrap his layers and
you'll find a whole sprout's worth of trinkets
and Christmas trivia. It's like it's their
personal game of Pass-the-parcel. Also a good
option for surprise lovers and sprout haters
10
You Drew...
The Dog Lover
Their screensaver is a slideshow of dog pictures.
Their mug has a photo of their very own pooch.
They FaceTime their pet at lunchtime in case he's
lonely. Obviously, you have to buy them
something dog related but what? They already
seem to have a dog on pretty much everything you
could put a dog on. Give them something to fill
the dog shaped gap on their lap. This Jellycat
puppy makes the ideal desk doggy to keep them
company while they work. With his cute crooked
ears and slightly sad eyes his soft fur is just
begging to be stroked. Also a good option for
cat lovers with a sense of humour Whichever
option you go for, youre sure to be the most
popular Secret Santa in the building!
