Title: Questions You Should Ask Your Wedding Florist

1
  • Questions You Should Ask Your Wedding Florist

2
  • The right flowers could make your special
wedding day even more special. However, getting
the right flowers means choosing the right
    florist.

3
  • Weddings should be full of beautiful floral
    arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces and more.
But, its difficult to get this beauty without
considering your style, having a plan and asking
good questions to your florist and/or floral
designer. Below is an overview of the questions
you should ask your florist before your wedding
    day.

4
Ask About the Flowers
  • Wedding florists perform many jobs, but their
most important job is providing flowers. So,
asking about their flower selection should be at
the top of your list. But, first, create a list
of the flowers you like and finalize your colour
    scheme.

5
  • Additionally, make sure youve already chosen
and ordered your wedding dress. With these items
taken care of, provide your florist with photos
of your favorite bouquets and floral
arrangements, as well as swatches and photos of
    your dress and bridesmaid dresses.

6
  • However, there are still some key questions
    you should ask, including
  • Based on the colour scheme and dress, what
    flowers do you recommend?
  • How are your flowers grown (e.g.
    sustainably-grown, pesticide-free or organic) and
are organic products provided by request?

7
  • Can you recreate the desired bouquet?
  • Do you have photos or examples of bouquets
    or other floral arrangements?
  • When are bouquets and/or arrangements
created and how are they stored before the
    wedding?
  • What flowers will be in season around the
    wedding day?

8
Ask About the Cost and the Contract
  • When planning a wedding, your budget should
always be a major consideration. Moreover, your
budget should be considered in conjunction with
the contract provided by the florist. This
contract should include all of the services
provided to you, any contingencies and all costs
    for their services.

9
  • So, with your budget and the contract in
    mind, ask questions like
  • Are there any setup and breakdown fees?
  • Is there a delivery fee?
  • Are there any additional fees that might
not be present in the contract?
  • Is there a fee for moving arrangements from
the wedding venue to the reception site?

10
  • When will you provide the contract?
  • What is your refund policy?
  • Is a deposit needed to secure your
services? How far in advance should the service
    be secured?
  • What is your cancellation process?
  • Will the contract include an itemized price
list of services and flowers provided?

11
Ask Basic Questions
  • Finding a reputable, trustworthy wedding
florist begins with asking basic questions. These
questions will give you information about
possible details and options for your wedding
day. Besides, with a good florist, you should be
able to share your favorite images, brainstorm
and find creative avenues to make your wedding
    dreams come true.

12
  • However, the first step is to ask basic
    questions, including
  • Have you done any other events at the
wedding venue? Are you familiar with the layout
    and/or landscape?
  • Do you have an opening for the wedding
date? How many other events have you booked for
    that day?
  • How many weddings have you worked on?
  • How long has your business been open?

13
  • Will you be working with a floral designer
or are you trained in floral design?
  • What is your design style or what styles do
you prefer to work with when providing flowers
    for weddings?
  • Can you provide references?
  • Based on the budget, is the desired result
    feasible?
  • Do you have any recommendations to maximise
    the budget?
  • Are packages offered or is customisation
    the only option?

14
  • Besides asking all of these questions, make
sure you do some research before interviewing
candidates. Not only will this research narrow
down your options, it will also ensure you hire a
florist who can create floral arrangements that
are perfect for your style. In the end, be sure
to choose someone who answered all your questions
and actively listened to your vision.
