Ways in Which Charity can be Done According
to Islam
2
  • Charity is given great importance in Islam. As
per the teachings of Prophet, Allah has a special
liking for people who do charity work.
  • This is essential as one of the main aspects of
being a follower of Islam is to help the needy
and spread brotherhood by helping others.
  • Islam teaches that any person who is wealthy and
is blessed with all the possessions must use
these possessions for the betterment of the less
fortunate people surviving in the world.

  • Anyone who is capable of extending a helping hand
is said to please Allah. Charity work in Islam is
believed and should be done without any
    expectations or rewards.
  • Charity is a social responsibility for a true
Muslim and should be done with humility and love
for fellow humans and Allah. Eventually, the
charity done is said to bring rewards in the
    afterlife.
  • Charity can be done in many ways which has been
    discussed in detail below.

4
Charity through financial help
  • One of the charity works that can be done is by
lending financial help to people who are living
in poverty. This financial help can be done in
    number of ways.
  • It can be done by financing the studies of a poor
    student.
  • This can also be done by taking care of the money
needed for admissions in Islamic schools or other
educational institutions, studies and supply of
the student. Financial help can be extended
towards the construction of schools, colleges,
hospitals, mosques, clinics, public urinals and
    water wells.

Other ways to do charity
  • Islamic charities are not limited to financial
help given to the ones in need. In Islam it is
said that even smiling at someone is an act of
    charity.
  •  Sadaqa Jariya is a never ending charity that can
be done in many ways. It is believed that the
series of charity work should not be disrupted.
  • It should be continuous in any and every way a
capable person can do. Prophet Mohammed once
said, that when a person dies, all actions come
to an end except for the help he has extended to
others, knowledge he has propagated and the
righteous children he has who will pray for him.

  • While financial help is a great charity, physical
help can also be done as charity. In Islam,
helping in the construction of mosques, schools,
colleges, hospitals, water wells and other such
buildings is also considered an act of charity.
  • This can also be done by spreading the word and
teachings of Allah among people. Distributing
Holy Scriptures, helping people to learn to
recite prayers and read the Holy Quran,
explaining people about the importance of Islamic
traditions like Roza , Hajj, Umrah , Zakat and
Hasanah, and helping people understand the true
meaning of being a Muslim is also a form of
charity and should be performed by Muslims to
    seek blessings from Allah.
