WHAT IS BREAST AUGMENTATION?
Breast augmentation uses silicone or saline
implants to create fuller, larger breasts.
3
Silicone breast
Saline breast implants may be harder to the
touch, but the incisions can be smaller and
vary in placement. It is also easier to tell if
a saline implant has ruptured.
SILICONE VS. SALINE
implants tend to be softer and more natural
looking, but are also more expensive and may
require longer incisions.
4
INCISION PLACEMENT
Depending on the type and size of your implant,
different incision locations are possible. The
two most common are INFRAMAMMARY This incision
is placed along the fold underneath the breast,
and is discreet and easily concealed. PERIAREOLA
R This incision is made along the lower border
of the areola. This scar is the least
noticeable, but it is not for patients with
small areolas or moderate to large silicone
implants.
5
WHO IS A BREAST AUGMENTATION CANDIDATE?
If you feel that your breasts are too small, or
you don't like their shape, or they are
asymmetrical, you may be a candidate for breast
augmentation.
6
BREAST AUGMENTATION VS
BREAST LIFT
Breast augmentation enlarges the breasts, while
a breast lift repositions sagging breasts
higher on the chest. These procedures can be
combined for max results.
7
ROUND OR TEARDOP IMPLANTS?
  • Round implants can be smooth or textured, and
maintain their shape even if the implant moves.
They create a very natural breast shape as well.
  • Teardrop implants are always textured in order to
maintain their shape, which makes them slightly
more prone to rupture. However, their final
    shape may be most natural.
