Tip 1
Tip 2
LEARN THE RULES
LEARN THE BASIC STRATEGY
Although the rules of Blackjack are fairly
standard, there are some casinos that have made
changes to the rules
Your odds and options will vary based on the
cards that you have been dealt and the face up
card that the dealer has
Tip 3
Tip 4
LESS IS MORE
WHERE TO SIT
Casinos can use between one and eight standard 52
card decks in a game of Blackjack
Some players believe that sitting in third base
is often the best option

Split or Not?

Tip 5
Tip 6
DON'T SPLIT TWO 10'S
NEVER SPLIT TWO 4'S
Given that the aim of the game is to get as close
to 21 as possible. Two 10's is a very good hand
Splitting two 4's is never a good plan. If you
play the 4's as one hand you're unlikely a bust
Tip 7
Tip 8
NEVER SPLIT TWO 5'S
ALWAYS SPLIT TWO ACES
Having a pair of 5's gives you the value of 10,
this is a good hand for you to get in the high
value range of 18-21
Playing your 2 aces as one hand, your starting
value will be 12 leaving the only option of being
deal a 9 to make 21

Double Down?

Tip 9
Double down when?
You have a hand of 11 and the dealer shows
anything from 2-10
You have a hand of 9 and the dealer shows
anything less than 7
You have a hand of 10 and the dealer shows
anything from 2-9

Tip 10
Play
Beware the hard 17
Hit on a soft 17
On a hard 17 the genera rule would be stand if
the dealer has a face up card that would make
them highly likely to bust. Unless the dealer has
a face up card of 3-6, the chances of the player
winning with a 17 are fairly low
Players with a soft 17 (an Ace and a 6 card,
totaling 17) often make the mistake of standing,
often trying to use the same rule as if the
player had a hard 17
