• Murudeshwar is a well known pilgrimage and beach
  destination located in Bhatkal Taluk of Uttara
  Kannada district in Karnataka.
• Earlier, Murudeshwar was called as Mrideshwara,
  later it was renamed as Murudeshwar after the
  construction of Lord Shiva temple named
  Murudeshwar temple.
• It was identified at the time of Ramayana.

Netarni Island

• It is called as Pigeon Island. When the
  island is being viewed from the top will appear
  in heart shape.
• It is termed as one of the best spot for
  scuba diving. Netrani Island is famous for its
  marine beauty because of its crystal clear water
  and different varieties of fishes like Napolean
  Wrasse, Cobia, Stonefish, black tip Sharks, great
  Barracuda, Turtles and Stingrays.

  Murudeshwar to Netrani Island through boat.

Murudeshwar Temple

• Height of Lord Shiva is about 123 feet, it is
  the second largest statue of Lord Shiva.
• The temple was built on the Kanduka hill which
  is surrounded by Arabian Sea on three sides.
• There was a history behind building this
  temple and hence it was built on the belief that
  the site is part of the soul of Lord Shiva.

  sculptures around the statue of Lord Shiva.
