1
Web Design AND Ecommerce development
Introduction Web Designing is the planning and
creation of the websites. This includes the
information architecture, user interface, site
structure, navigation, layout, colors, fonts and
imagery. All of these are combined with the
principles of design to create the website that
meets the goals of the owner and designer. Design
is the Key Part of Web Design Design includes
both the design principles-balance, Contrast,
emphasis, rhythm, and the unity- and the design
elements-lines, shapes, texture, color and
direction. Web Designing is a similar process of
creation, with the intention of presenting the
content on electronic web pages, which the end
users can access through the internet with the
help of web browser.

  • Benefits of quality Web Design
  • Consistent brand Identity
  • Professional designers think about the big
picture. They create a visual language for the
brand that is consistent across the different
contexts. Your website, logo, business cards,
and even your twitter profile have formed the
coherent whole. Brands that have consistent
visual language make the more memorable
impression than those that look like 5 different
    sides of the business.
  • More Visitors stay on the page
  • You are looking for the visitors who browse
through your site and get to know who you are.
Remember that most of the people will leave after
a glimpse at your site. It takes something
    special to keep them interested.
  • More Customers
  • Call to action is the sign-up, buy now, and learn
more parts of your site. Where they on a web
page, how they look, and what they say will
determine how many more people decide to buy
    something from you.
  • Distinction from Competitors
  • Within the same industry there are many websites
that look same. They say the right stuff, the
design isnt offensive, but they dont make up an
effort to speak up and say why theyre special.
That doesnt mean you have to pull out the
sparkly graphics to get the attention. Quality
means distilling all of your unique selling
points into one coherent visual message.
  • Form, structure and purpose to content
  • Content and design need to be perfectly aligned
on your site. Most of the people will not put in
the effort to understand what you are trying to
say. Large blocks of small text, confusing
navigation and obscured calls to action will
    turn visitors away.
  • Polished details
  • The choice of fonts, spacing of text and contrast
are details that make a difference in the
    overall quality of your site.

3
  • Myths about Web design
  • Good design is a tricky thing. Not only do you
have to have all the right pieces, you also have
to keep out all the wrong pieces. Wrong pieces
    poison otherwise the quality designs.
  • Its time to clear the air, and bust some common
design myths that still exist today
  • More Shopping Better Design
  • Design is not a shopping spree. Too many clients
try to cram as many as ideas into one website as
possible. They think the more a website does the
more value it will have to users. The truth,
however, is exactly the opposite. Less complex
website can present the primary message really
well. A simple, well designed website can be
intuitive and offer the positive and memorable
    brand experience.
  • Design curses all
  • The Design is more than colors, graphics and
fonts. Its experience, interaction and function.
A great design can solve the user experience
challenges. However, the design does little to
fix a lack of content, low traffic, poor
engagement or the poor conversion rates.
  • People read on Web
  • If your homepage has a word count above 200, then
your bounce rate will likely signal a problem
with your design. There are always exceptions,
but in general, we try to keep the home pages
    under 75 words.
  • Rotating banner are cool
  • Rotating banners have become a crutch for the
companies who arent sure what message resounds
with their visitors. However, in this modern age
of impatience and mobile devices, rotating
banners and the time it takes to

4
  • consume them annoy more visitors than they
    engage.
  • Better to surprise users than to ask for the
    feedback
  • Asking the user what they want is a great way to
make sure you build the right replacement
website. You dont need to ask them about the
design. Instead, ask the users to priorities
what they feel is most important. This will
allow you to identify those things that may not
factor into your customer's buying decisions.
  • Engage the users with the Bold Text, Bright
    colors and stock photography
  • Visual design is less about making every section
of your website visually appealing in the right
order to facilitate an intuitive user experience.
If you are trying to use graphics to attract use
engagement in every section of your site, its a
sign you either have a content problem or you
    need a new designer.
  • Conclusion
  • Everything about your website including the
content, the way it looks and the way it works-
is all determined by the website design. It
encompasses all the different aspects, including
the webpage layout, content productions, and
graphic design. It satisfies the customers as web
design meets the need of your visitors- telling
them quickly what they want to know without
    necessary and confusing design items.
  • Your website should be the place to go for
everything, saving everyones time and money.
