Partner Category Visa

• If you wish to bring your partner to Australia,
  there are different types of partner visas
  available.
• You may be eligible for a partner category visa
  if you are
• Spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian
  permanent resident or eligible New Zealand
  citizen, or
• Fiancé of an Australian citizen, Australian
  permanent resident or eligible New Zealand
  citizen, or
• De facto partner (including same-sex
  relationships) with an Australian citizen,
  Australian permanent resident or eligible New
  Zealand citizen.

Child and adoption visa Options

• A child might be eligible for a child visa if
  they are
• under 18 years of age, and
• single (not married, engaged to be married, or in
  a de facto relationship)
• In certain circumstances, a person over 18 years
  of age might be considered as a child. These
  circumstances are described in the child visa
  options below.

Parent category visa option

• You might be eligible to apply for a parent
  category visa if
• you have a child who is an Australian citizen, an
  Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New
  Zealand citizen
• your child has been living in Australia lawfully
  for at least 2 years before you lodge your visa
  application
• you have a sponsor
• you meet the Balance of family test criteria
• you meet health and character requirements.

Relative visa option

• You will need a relative visa if you want to move
  to Australia and live here permanently because
• you are aged and financially dependent on a
  relative who lives here, or
• your and your partner's only remaining relatives
  live here and you want to be near them.
• If you only want to visit Australia for a short
  or temporary period of time, you will need a

• Information about capping and queuing of family
  visas, processing priority changes, and children
  who are born to permanent residents of Australia.

  subject to being capped and queued. These visas
