Stance Dance Studio Choreographer Himani
Khurana HIMANI KHURANA - is a choreographer,
dance artist and educator. A passionate performer
and a keen learner, Khurana started her dance
training in 2001. She is trained in Jazz, Ballet
and Modern Dance techniques with teachers from
India and overseas. From 2004-2006 Ms. Khurana
worked as a repertory company member for The
Danceworx Performing Arts Academy ( New Delhi)
and in 2006 moved on to study and train
further. There on she trained more intensively in
Ballet and Contemporary dance forms. Also
inspired by Indian classical dances, Himani
studied and trained in Kathak (Jaipur Gharana).
In 2008, she went to The Toronto School of Dance
and Theatre, Canada, and studied Contemporary
dance as a part of an intensive training program.
In Canada she had the opportunity to work with
some well known and acknowledged teachers and
choreographers (Julia Sasso, Helen Jones, Sharon
Moore, Rosemary James and Johanna Bergfeldt).
Khurana has been developing her own works since
2006. Her choreographies feature as part of
documentaries, installation projects and have
also featured at festivals. She is a certified
Ballroom and Latin Dance trainer and personally
loves the Rumba and the Cha Cha.

Sushant Ummat SUSHANT UMMAT A self taught Hip
Hop and Bollywood dancer, his journey from being
an amateur to becoming a professional dancer has
been a long and exciting one! Already a
professional performer by the age of 17, he
performed with famous Indian artists such as
Sukhbir, KK , and Sundhi Chauhan. Year 2002
onwards he studied and trained intensively in
Funk Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary dance
techniques. Sushant was fortunate enough to train
in and perform various diverse styles of dance
from ballet to hip hop and break dance to
ballroom, old school Chicago jazz and Funk Jazz
to contemporary dance. Sushant is keenly invited
as a guest teacher to work with other studios in
the city and around. His caliber and talent as a
versatile dancer is recognized and well
acknowledged within the dance circuit.
