Title: How Robotics Has Revolutionized Engineering

1
How Robotics Has Revolutionized
Engineering Engineers have long played a hand in
the development of advancing technologies for use
in a wide array of industries, from
manufacturing to healthcare, and more. In more
recent years, as technologies have reached even
greater levels, one area that is quickly growing
is robotics. Robotic engineers are tasked with
designing and developing robotic solutions for
numerous types of tasks beyond automating
production lines.
Today, robotics has several key elements, and
each one is essential to developing the right
solutions to meet the demands of specific
industries. These key elements include Software
Robotic software is the programming code and
application needed to instruct the robot to
perform specific tasks and functions. Some of the
latest advances in software development allow
for adaptive learning, enabling the robot to
collect and analyze data and make adjustments
using artificial intelligence (AI). Mechanical
The mechanical component to robotics refers to
the specific robotic parts that move and perform
the desired tasks and functions. The mechanics
rely upon the other three elements and will not
work correctly without them. Hardware The
hardware is essentially the brain of the robot
where the software is installed, data is
collected, stored, processed, and analyzed, and
decision-making processes occur in robots with
AI.
2
Electronics The electronic aspect to robotics
is similar to a humans circulatory system. It
is the heartbeat of the robot that ensures all
other elements work together as designed. From
an engineering perspective, the rise of robotics
has helped engineers develop newer, cutting-edge
technologies faster and more efficiently. Robots
can be used to perform complex tasks, data
analysis, simulations, and other autonomous and
independent functions. In addition, engineers
are able to use existing robots and robotics to
perform a wide array of daily tasks, such
as Soldering Welding Electronics Boards
Production Computer Boards Production Complex
Wiring Simulated Testing Using robots for these
kinds of work helps free up the time of
engineers, allowing them to focus on making
advances in other areas of robotics and AI. In
some engineering labs, current robots are even
being used to build new and more advanced robots!
Robotics and Robots Engineers Have Developed

Some of the more common types of robotic
technologies used by people every day are our
personal digital assistants. While there is not
an actual robotic body, the technology used to
allow our assistants to adaptively learn and
customize their responses to our needs has helped
engineers make advancements in computer learning
and AI. Automated drones are another robotic
technology engineers created. These drones are
used to deliver packages, take weather readings,
and perform military operations. Even Facebook is
using drones to provide high-speed internet
access in less populated areas. The Internet of
Things (IoT) was also developed by robotics and
computer engineers to connect devices in the
home. From smart TVs to smart appliances, the
smart home of tomorrow is becoming a reality
today. Engineers have already begun work on
automated vehicles using robotic technologies for
both commercial and private consumer usage. In
some areas of the world, public transit systems
have started using automated buses, trains, and
subway systems that require little to no human
interaction. As you can see, not only is robotics
helping engineers to revolutionize their research
and development and make advancements more
quickly but also, helping reshape our industries
and personal lives. Over the next decade, the
future of robotics and robots is going to become
even more integrated into our daily lives,
making things easier for humans while creating a
host of new job opportunities related to the
advancing technologies.
