Title: How limestone sealing can prevent the floor from getting stained

getting stained

2
Loose Grout
The problem is not because of the limestone. It
is because of the loose grout.
3
Causes of Loose Grout
  • There might be some movements in the sub-floor.
Sometimes, a void is created under a tile. This
    often loosens the grout.
  • The second cause of loose grout is uneven
adhesive. This also leaves voids under tiles.
  • When there are no voids under tiles then this
problem is because you never applied limestone
sealing or the seal is worn down.

4
Causes of Dirty and Grimy Floor
Spills seeped into the limestone tile gives it
the grimy, dirty and dull appearance. Even when
you try to be careful, liquids are often spilled
on the floor.
5
Solution
Stains and marks on the floor due to spills can
be removed by re-honing the floor. However, the
floor will again get dirty and grimy looks due to
the spills. Therefore, the best solution is to
prevent spills from seeping into the tile. This
is what limestone sealing does.
6
Avoid Harsh Chemicals
The floor is looking etched because you have used
harsh chemical to clean tiles. These chemicals
often cause stains on the floor. In order to
remove stains, you once try some other harsh
chemical based cleaning agent. And, this vicious
cycle goes on.
7
Restore the Floor
Before restoration, it is important to locate the
source of the problem. Professionals perform a
hammer test for identifying voids under the
floor. Here, you need not replace the entire
floor. You just need to fill voids under tiles.
8
Fill Voids and Seal the Floor
Voids are filled by drilling holes in the grout.
After that, a product is injected through these
holes to fill the voids. After 12 to 15 hours,
the hammer test is once again performed to make
sure that void is completely filled. Limestone
sealing will prevent floor from getting stained
due to spills.
