Earthmoving equipments are many in number and
names and are also given the name of construction
or heavy equipments. They are extremely versatile
and one machine can handle a whole plethora of
tasks. Some very popular types are discussed
herein.

Most commonly used earthmoving equipments
Bulldozer
  • This is massive equipment and is commonly used
    for pushing huge piles of earth, wood, rocks,
    etc.
  • It is more or less like a tractor with a dozer
    blade attached to it.

Crane
  • It is used for moving bulk loads from one place
    to another.
  • It consists of a rake or a buck, i.e. attached to
    it and used for lifting or moving soil, debris,
    trees, etc.

Backhoe
  • It is basically an earth digging machine.
  • It comes with a bucket attached with it for easy
    digging.

Excavator bucket
  • This is actually a bucket attachment that can be
    attached to any heavy vehicle as an extension or
    an arm.
  • Its main purpose is to scoop soil, debris or
    rocks.

Road roller
  • It is generally used for compacting soil,
    asphalt, concrete or gravel for roads.
  • The weighty roller attached to it compresses the
    surface on which it is being rolled.

  • This attachment is generally used for holding
    objects when attached to another machine.

  • These earthmoving equipments is used to make
    piles into the soil.
  • This machine uses the pile driver method for
    construction of structures to make it stronger.
