Naval and Marine Architect Jobs
2
When they build a ship there are numerous steps
that are involved in building a ship, especially
as the Navy commissioned.  They work on projects
that are related to defense and military.  There
are five basic tasks that are required from the
naval architect that are put into three different
categories, which are designing, construction,
and following up after the ship was built.  The
planning stage starts by discussing the
requirements needed, how much weight it will
hold, how many people it will carry, and how
maneuverable and fast it needs to be.  Once this
has been decided the new ship will be designed.
This is usually done using different computer
programs but it can be done with blueprints and
hand drawings.
3
During the construction phase the naval architect
will work with the engineer to make sure that the
plans are followed exactly.  During the building
of the different areas the naval architect will
check the pieces constructed with the plans to
make sure that they are constructed right.  Every
section of the ship starting with the foundation
of the shop and ending with the engine and all
the accessories are check.  Even though the
engineer is in charge of the construction the
naval architect is responsible to make sure that
the plans are followed and may also work on
aspects of workboat design.
4
The last part is to make sure that the naval
architect follows ups after the construction is
finished and the ship is ready for use.  They
will evaluate the performance of the ship and for
the first few voyages they will document every
aspect of the voyage like weight, top speed,
maneuverability, and other requirements that were
stated in the initial plans.

A marine architects design marine craft and
floating structure like for the armed services
and the public.  They also supervise their
construction and repair of these crafts.  They
aid in the building process of submarines, ships,
barges, and floating entities like buoys and
floats.  The design responsibilities include
planning structures that adhere to efficiency,
budget, and safety requirements.

They will make sure that the plans outline
clearly craft specifications like speed, weight,
and size.  They may also design the
superstructure, hull, and craft layout.  They may
s\also design details like cargo space,
compartments for the passengers, and placement of
ladder wells, elevators, and exits.

The marine architect works with the marine
engineers to plan and complete the projects.  The
architect, with the engineer, may help with the
arrangement of the ventilation systems, piping
and other things in the boiler room.  The
architect makes sure the craft is seaworthy and
safe.  They make sure that the project is being
built according to the plans and in compliance
with international and national requirements.
