In his novel, Question Everything...Then Dig
Deeper, author John Andes has created a fictional
tale that rings almost too close to reality
(1888 PressRelease) With the background of
jihadist terrorism during a Presidential election
year, FBI analysts unearth a political conspiracy
that could rock the country as a whole.
Simultaneously, Senior Analyst David Drummer is
thrust into the cover up of a Bureau sex scandal.
Caught up in a web of deceit and scandal, Drummer
tries to find the truth, while not destroying his
career in the process. "I don't know. I'm not
sure. I'm confused. I think they think they
bought my loyalty. I think they don't know what I
found." During the Spring before a Presidential
election, and with the backdrop of terrorism and
retaliation, FBI Senior Analyst, David Drummer is
completing plans for his upcoming retirement.
Suddenly, he comes face-to-face with several
domestic scenarios a sex scandal of far reaching
consequences within the Bureau, two police
killings three thousand miles apart, and
hate-based rallies in three US cities designed to
rile voters against an invisible foreign
force. David is unwittingly thrust into the
scandal's cover up. He has confiscated video
files that contain proof of the people involved,
but he can show the files to no one. In an effort
to influence the outcome of the investigation
into the scandal, while not getting involved in
uncovering the truth, he decides to play
puppeteer to a newspaper reporter. His team
focuses on the driving force behind the
hate-based rallies, and how they are the first
signs of a wide-spread conspiracy. To help his
team expose the conspiracy's roots, David digs
into a political movement from the past.
2
Murders of people connected to the sex scandal
cover-up begin piling up. After an attempt on his
life, David fears his superiors are aware of the
scandal evidence in his possession. The Bureau's
efforts to bury the scandal, the attempt on his
life, and the depth and magnitude of the national
conspiracy cause David's emotional and physical
well-being to spiral inexorably out of
control. John Andes was born and raised in
Central Pennsylvania and received a degree in
philosophy from Brown University. His business
career started in New York and was focused on
advertising and marketing. He is retired and now
lives on the Central Florida Gulf Coast. Although
retired, John is still very active in his
community where he coaches little league
football, teaches creative writing and is a
member of SCORE where he mentors small-business
owners. In 1995 John began writing his novels
and attributes his motivation and inspiration for
doing so to his two adult sons, Teran and Ian.
After writing his eldest son Teran a lengthy, and
at the time emotional, email Teran made the
comment to John, "you know dad you ought to write
for a living." That was his motivation and within
a little over a month John had written the first
275 pages of his professional writing career.
Ian, John's younger son is his inspiration to
continue writing. "Writing is an escape for me,
a time when I can let my mind wander, be creative
and be at peace," says John. Question
Everything...Then Dig Deeper is the thirteenth
