The best AC load banks for testing UPS, AC
supplies... Power resistors are used in generator
load banks to avoid fouling of the diesel engine
when the generator is operating at low power.
Therefore, load bank are also used to reduce wet
stacking issue in diesel engines. In addition,
it is standard practice to use power resistors as
load banks (battery discharger) to maintain
batteries in electrical laboratories, industrial
testing facilities and telecommunications
facilities.

Resistive load banks
Resistive load banks are widely used load banks
for testing of power systems and generator sets.
Amperis offers a varied range of Resistive Load
Banks at very reasonable price range. Products
are developed using highest quality material
which develops an electrical load, and converts
the resultant power output of the source.
Developed with industry laid standards, Resistor
banks by Amperis are perfect to be used for
indoor or outdoor application. In resistive load
banks, load is created by converting electrical
energy to heat using high-power resistors such as
grid resistors. It is highly important that the
heat must disperse from the load bank, either by
water or air, by convection or other forced means
to avoid fouling of engine. Resistive load
simulates real-life resistive loads in testing,
such as heating loads as well as the unity power
factor component of magnetic loads. The main
purpose of a load bank is to follow the "real" or
operational load accurately in the actual
application. Unlike the real load, which is
random in value, likely to be dispersed and
unpredictable, a Load Bank provides an organized,
contained, and completely controllable load.
Where the real load uses the power source and
the energy output of the source for its
productive purposes, the load bank using its
energy output serves as the power source to
support, test, or protect the power source.
