Title: In Vitro Fertilization Failure? Find Out the Reasons Why

1
In Vitro Fertilization Failure? Find Out the
Reasons Why
2
  • In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) refers to a form of
assisted reproduction procedure that involves the
collection of mature eggs from the ovaries of an
infertile woman and fertilizing them in a lab
with a healthy and mature sperm from the partner.

3
  • The embryo is given 3 5 days to develop before
being inserted in the uterus where will hopefully
implant and be carried to term.

4
  • IVF is one of the most dependable fertility
treatments that we have today. It is used to
correct both male infertility and female
infertility. Today IVF is responsible for over 3
million births in the United States and have been
an ideal treatment for many forms of infertility
including low sperm count, fibroids, adenomyosis,
recurrent loss of pregnancy, scarring of the
    uterine cavity, and endometriosis.

5
  • But in every occasion is IVF procedure usually
successful. Sometimes IVF procedures will fail
and certain couple could record multiple IVF
    implantation failures.

6
  • This rarely happens but if it does the reasons
    might include the following.

7
  • Death of the embryo. Many human embryos will die
before the fifth day. However some of the embryos
can also die after the fifth day. This happens
even after the embryos have been inserted in the
womb where they are expected to implant. This is
the major cause of IVF failures.

8
  • The age of the female. With the many IVF
procedures that have been done, statistics
clearly show that for women who are under the
ages of 35, the success rates have been slightly
above 45 and around 15 for women who range
    between 40 42 years.

9
  • Weakness in the embryo. The truth is rarely does
the sperm or the state of the uterus contributes
to failed IVF implantation. The tests that are
often done prior to the IVF process are meant
firstly to eliminate these possibilities. Rather
if the embryo is weak it will fail to implant
    properly.

10
  • Chromosomal abnormality. Chromosomal abnormality
in human embryos increases significantly as the
woman ages. They often start at early 30s and
increase very fast such that by the mid-40s over
75 of human embryos are chromosomally abnormal.

11
Conclusion
  • Switching the egg from a young egg donor will be
highly successful. It eliminates the many
weaknesses that an older egg will have and will
enhance a quick implantation. If IVF fails,
gestational surrogacy will be a great option to
    go with.
