The Health Benefits Of Drinking Tea
2
  • Tea has always been popular, and now, with so
many different types of tea available in our
local supermarkets, tea tipplers are really
spoilt for choice. While some of us focus on the
flavor of the tea, there are others who drink
certain types of tea for their possible health
benefits, such as those listed below

3
  • Teas are rich in antioxidants
  • Our bodies can undergo attack from harmful
chemicals called free radicals, and antioxidants
help to protect us from them. Tea is brimming
with antioxidants, and so can help us to stave
    off illnesses and infections.

4
  • Tea contains less caffeine than coffee
  • Traditional teas have around 50 less caffeine in
them, than most coffees, while herbal teas
contain no caffeine at all. We all know how
jittery or shaky an overload of caffeine can make
us feel, so switching from coffee to tea should
mean that you get those symptoms less.

5
  • Green tea may reduce the risk of heart attacks
  • There have been various studies conducted in
which the consumption of green tea has been
linked to a reduction in the risk of heart
attacks and strokes, and lower levels of LDL
cholesterol. Drinking between one and four (or
more) cups of green tea daily has shown to reduce
the risk of heart attack by up to 20 and the
risk of a stroke by 35.

6
  • Your immune system might be boosted by drinking
    tea
  • We all know that our immune system is crucial in
the fight against diseases, and what we eat and
drink can play a huge role in boosting our immune
system so that it can better protect us.
  • Tea contains a substance called L-theanine which
the liver breaks down and turns into ethylamine.
This then helps to boost the immune systems
response to germs, viruses and disease, keeping
    us healthy for longer.

7
  • Tea can help soothe the digestive system
  • The simple act of sipping on a warm cup of tea
has been proven to soothe and calm us over the
years, but some herbal teas have been used for
many more years to soothe, calm and in some
cases, even to cure, digestive system ailments,
such as bloating, constipation and diarrhea.
    Ingredients like ginger, peppermint, cinnamon,
cloves and turmeric are all herbs that are known
for their powerful ability to help promote
necessary digestive secretions, eliminate gas and
reduce inflammation, so teas containing these
will naturally help your digestive system
    flourish.

8
  • Tea is calorie free!
  • Well, your cup of tea before you add milk and
sugar is calorie free! But in all seriousness,
what better way to stay hydrated than to
intersperse your water consumption with cups of
tea, if only to make keeping.
