Title: Do You Want To Know Different Types Of Pearls?

1
Types Of Pearls
2
  • Pearls are the symbol of beauty and purity.
It adds more prettiness in our jewelry. Today,
they are produced by using both classic and
contemporary techniques. They are coming in many
more fashionable styles than traditional strand
of pearls. There are various types of pearls
    available in the market.

3
Natural Pearls
  • Natural pearls occur randomly in nature,
without any human intervention and are extremely
rare. In the past, they were found in the Persian
Gulf. When found, the pearls are harvested,
cleaned and used in the jewelry. These pearls are
the most expensive of all the pearls.

4
Cultured Pearls
  • Cultured pearls are differ from natural
pearls as they are grown in special pearl farms.
The mollusks are raised until they are old enough
    to accept the mother-of-pearl bead
nucleus. Through a fragile surgical method, the
technician embeds the bead and then the mollusks
are returned to the water and cared for while the
    pearl forms.

5
South Sea Pearls
  • South Sea pearls are cultivated in oysters.
They are grown in large and it also found in
many shapes. They are of exceptional quality
pearls range from silver to white, golden, and
cream colors. Due to its perfect roundness and
smoothness the range of south sea pearl jewelry
    are the prettiest one.

6
Freshwater Pearls
  • Freshwater pearls cultured in mussels. They
are natural looking and diverse shape and color
and are not bigger than 7mm. They are originating
in Japan around Biwa Lake. These are generally
smaller, less symmetrical, and not as well
matched when strung on a strand. But if you are
looking for affordable pearls, freshwater pearl
    jewelry is the perfect one.

7
Imitation Pearls
  • Imitation pearls are usually a coated glass
bead. Most have a high luster, but not the depth
of luster seen on high quality cultured pearls.
Jewelers can easily separate an imitation from a
cultured or natural pearl. It can be a challenge,
though, to determine if the pearl is cultured or
natural. And, many pearls undergo treatments to
either enhance their luster or alter their color.
