Doctor Richard Reid Devotes Time and Efforts in
Philanthropic Activities

Dr Richard Reid, an accomplished gynecologist, is
in a private practice in NSW for more than 2
decades. He is very experienced in colposcopy,
vulvo-vaginal disease, laser medicine,
gynaecological surgery, and has done a lot of
research on these areas. He has won numerous
prestigious awards like FJ Browne Gold Medal for
highest marks in Royal College Obstetrics
Gynaecology Membership exam and Presidential
award, American Society of Colposcopy Cervical
Pathology for the Best Basic Science Paper at the
Biennial Meeting in Florida. In 1955, at Central
Association of Obstetricians Gynecologists in
Houston, he received the Best Scientific Paper
award.

He has various academic appointments. Dr Richard
Reid has worked as a Conjoint Assistant Professor
at the University of Newcastle. Prior to this, he
served as an Assistant Professor (F.T.A.) at the
Department of Obstetrics Gynecology, Wayne
State University School of Medicine (from 1982 to
1985) and Assistant Professor (Clinical
Department of Obstetrics Gynecology) at Wayne
State University School of Medicine (from 1985 to
1987). He devotes his time, money, and efforts
in various philanthropic activities. He was the
founding member of the Double Bay Rotary Club,
but he left it later because of the busy
schedule. He is planning to rejoin it after
retirement.

In addition, Doctor Richard Reid has voluntarily
run several medical and surgical education
courses across the world. He has been the
director of Sinai Hospital Biennial Course in
Colposcopy, Hysteroscopy, Cervical Vulvar
pathology and Gynecologic Laser Surgery,
Australian New Zealand Institute of Medical
Education on Defect-Specific Prolapse Repair,
American College of Obstetricians
Gynecologists, 060 Post Graduate Course, Clinical
Laser Surgery in Gynecology, etc.
