Part 1 12 Best Thanksgiving Movies There are
quite a lot of wonderful Thanksgiving themed
movies to recommend. You could get Thanksgiving
movies for kids and families, Thanksgiving comedy
movies, religious Thanksgiving movies, and so on.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles In New York the
marketing executive Neal Page wants to travel
home to Chicago for Thanksgiving. He has
difficulties getting a taxi and his flight is
cancelled. He meets in the airport the clumsy and
talkative shower curtain ring salesman Del
Griffith who has taken his cab and they travel
side-by-side to Chicago. However the bad weather
shuts down OHare Airport and they land at
Wichita, Kansas. They both want to go to Chicago
and they decide to travel together. Along their
journey Neal changes his viewpoint about Del
Griffith and his own behavior.
Pieces of April In a very poor zone of New York,
April Burns and her boyfriend, the Afro-American
Bobby, are preparing to receive Aprils family
for thanksgiving dinner. While Bobby tries to
borrow a suit for himself, April realizes that
her stove is broken. She tries desperately to
find a neighbor that can let her cook the turkey,
since she does not want to fail (again) with her
family. Meanwhile, in a suburb of Pennsylvania,
her dysfunctional family is preparing to travel
to New York. While driving, the relationship
between the Burns and their black-sheep April is
disclosed through the conversations between her
father Jim, her resented mother Joy, her brother,
her sister and her grandmother.
Hannah and Her Sisters During a Thanksgiving Day
party we make acquaintance with a numerous and
problematic family. The leading characters are
three sisters Lee, the woman of Frederick, an
old misanthrope painter Holly, who dreams of
becoming a writer, or an actress, or who knows
who Hannah, famous actress, beautiful,
intelligent, good mother, good wife, good sister,
in short perfect, the pivot of the family. The
balance begins to break up when Hannahs husband,
Elliot, falls in love with Lee, who leaves
Frederick. Holly goes through a deep crisis and
meets Mickey, the former husband of Hannah, a
hypochondriac TV producer. The affairs evolve and
at the last Thanksgiving

Son in Law Country girl Rebecca (Carla Gugino)
has spent most of her life on a farm in South
Dakota, and, when she goes away to college in Los
Angeles, Rebecca immediately feels out of place
in the daunting urban setting. She is befriended
by a savvy party animal named Crawl (Pauly
Shore), who convinces the ambivalent Rebecca to
stay in the city. When Thanksgiving break rolls
around, Rebecca, no longer an innocent farm girl,
invites Crawl back to South Dakota, where he
pretends to be her fiancé.
The House of Yes Marty, a college student in New
York, decides to pay his family a visit in their
ancient and imposing house in D.C. He makes two
mistakes, one is bringing his fiancé, Lesly with
him, and the other is coming at all. As soon as
he gets home things begin to go wrong, and
although the mother, Mrs. Pascal hides the
kitchen knives, she isnt able to prevent
disaster. It soon becomes clear that Marty and
his sister, the unbalanced Jackie-O are just a
little too affectionate towards each other, and
everything untoward that could happen, does, in
this unusual comedy.
Grumpy Old Men John Gustafson (Jack Lemmon) and
Max Goldman (Walter Matthau) are two curmudgeonly
neighbors who have been at each others throats
for years. The rivalry of the former friends
intensifies when Ariel (Ann-Margret) comes along
and provides a love interest for both of them.
When Max finds out that John is experiencing
family troubles and financial ruin, however, he
steps in to help. Their bond is further cemented
when John has a health scare and Max makes the
ultimate sacrifice for his friend.

Scent of a Woman Frank is a retired Lt. Col. in
the US army. Hes blind and impossible to get
along with. Charlie is at school and is looking
forward to going to college. To help pay for a
trip home for Christmas, he agrees to look after
Frank over Thanksgiving. Franks niece says this
will be easy money, but she didnt reckon on
Frank spending his Thanksgiving in New York.
Dutch (1991) Working man Dutch (Ed ONeill) is
dating the divorced Natalie (JoBeth Williams),
and he offers to drive her stuffy 13-year-old,
Doyle (Ethan Randall), from his private school in
Atlanta to his mothers home in Chicago for
Thanksgiving. Doyle is not interested as he
blames Natalie for the divorce and wants nothing
to do with Moms new boyfriend, especially given
the mans lowly, working-class roots. This
pairing makes for a journey filled with
bickering, mishaps and, eventually, bonding.
Pocahontas "Pocahontas," a 1995 Disney animated
film, offers a fictionalized look at Native
American Pocahontas and Englishman John Smith as
English settlers meet Powhatan Indians in
Jamestown. It also makes a nice follow-up to the
realities of "The New World," and we especially
like suspending disbelief when Pocahontas visits
Grandmother Willow, an advice-offering tree
spirit. The movies sure to bring back memories
for the teenagers who viewed it as toddlers, and
its perfect for helping a new generation of
children wile away a pleasant hour.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving When Peppermint
Patty and her friends finagle Charlie Brown into
serving a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, its
up to Woodstock and Snoopy to make the day a
success. Thanks to daring dishes like buttered
toast and popcorn, and a memorable struggle with
an uncooperative folding chair, Snoopy lends his
own brand of wordless charm to the days events.
As the gang gathers around a ping-pong table for
their unique meal, the true meaning of
Thanksgiving shines through. A classic for
parents and grandparents alike and sure to
become a fast favorite of younger generations.
The Blind Side Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a
homeless black teen, has drifted in and out of
the school system for years. Then Leigh Anne
Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) and her husband, Sean (Tim
McGraw), take him in. The Tuohys eventually
become Michaels legal guardians, transforming
both his life and theirs. Michaels tremendous
size and protective instincts make him a
formidable force on the gridiron, and with help
from his new family and devoted tutor, he
realizes his potential as a student and football
player.
The New World Arriving with a British expedition
in Virginia in 1607, Capt. John Smith (Colin
Farrell) is captured by Native Americans. His
life is spared thanks to Pocahontas (Qorianka
Kilcher), daughter of the tribes chief. Smith
and Pocahontas fall in love, to the mutual dismay
of the Native Americans and the British. Smith is
sent away, and his death is reported. An unhappy
Pocahontas marries settler John Rolfe (Christian
Bale). When Smith turns up alive, Pocahontas is
torn between the two men.
