• The district outperforms our school in reading
  throughout all grade levels
• 8th grade shows the greatest need for
  improvement.

Our Improvement Plan

• Teachers will participate in professional
  learning communities (PLC) to discuss data from
  formal and informal assessments and use this data
  to drive instruction.
• Mandatory 30 minute Sustained Silent Reading
  reading block every morning.

• Implementing and strengthening strategic reading
  skills
• Reading for a purpose
