A new job

    getting dull day by day.
  • She had no fervour or eagerness to come to office

Under appreciated
  • The basis of high performance engagement is
getting acknowledged for the work done.
  • Obviously, you dont expect getting acknowledged
    everyday.
  • But, your position in the company is important
if your boss realizes it plus makes you realize
it, then you are excited about your work.
  • A pat on the back changes your attitude towards
    work.

Valuable asset
  • Aarti had just started her career she needed
    guidance support.
  • In the first month itself she expressed her
disappointment to her friend, None of the
colleagues or boss gave me hands on training. I
    learnt on my own.
  • Inspite of this achievement in the new job she
was not appreciated by anyone, she decided to
    quit.
  • As a valuable asset, her team boss was shocked
    couldnt cope with her departure.

5
Problem with your boss
  • There are bosses you would love to work with, as
you have a comfort level with them.
  • They dont micromanage they trust you. But, if
your boss doesnt have these qualities it is
    tough to work with him.
  • There can be various reasons why you cant work
with your boss he might be having a bad temper,
he is more focused on your weaknesses or he is
    discouraging.
  • Then its surely time to change your job.

6
Micro managing
  • Amits boss asked him, What is the status of the
    project as of now?
  • Every alternate day Amits boss Rakesh used to
come up to him to know the update of the
    projects.
  • Amit found it intimidating was fed up of
Rakeshs habit of micro managing. Everyday he had
something to advice. Amit started feeling that
    Rakesh didnt trust him.
  • Amits frustration levels increased day by day
till a point that his performance started
    dropping.

7
Clash of values
  • Every human being holds some values in his life.
  • He doesnt like to compromise them in any
  • .
  • If you compromise on these values, you will not
    be able to forgive yourself.
  • So, while you are doing your job your values
are challenged, be prepared to quit your job.

8
Low quality
  • Working in a construction firm as a supervisor,
Rahul had understood that the contractor had used
    low quality material.
  • The contractor expected Rahul to ignore this
    fact.
  • Rahul knew it was cheating the customer who had
booked the flats with great hope.
  • Rahul couldnt burden himself with policies that
conflicted with his values decided to quit the
    job.

9
Adding value
  • Its been quite sometime at your job.
  • You have learnt what you had to, at your
    workplace.
  • Now the job is not adding value to your knowledge
    experience.
  • Every work that you take up is a challenge to
your talent knowledge, if your work has stopped
    challenging you, quit the job.

10
Honing your talent
  • It had been 5 years for Shekhar at his job.
There were no new assignments nothing
    challenging left in his job.
  • As an HR manager he realised none of the policies
could be suggested to his boss as he was not open
    to changes or innovative ideas.
  • Shekhar felt if he had to continue working in the
same environment his knowledge will never be put
    to test.
  • But, when Shekhar quit, his boss never realised
what was the reason for his exit.

Qualis Pharma as a Marketing Manager.
  • Recently, he had been sent by his boss to the
government facility to promote their product for
a big tie up with the local government office.
  • Danishs boss expected him to offer a bribe to
the local officer to bag the deal, Danish refused
to burden himself with this unethical action he
    put down his papers.

13
No future
  • The company you work for doesnt adapt itself
to the new changes in the market.
  • It doesnt have a strategy, technology, or a
policy that has the power to combat the
    challenges of the market.
  • The scenario is clear that the company is going
to face losses it is time to part ways with the
    company.

Customer preference
  • Rathi Brothers deal in desktop computer parts
and maintenance. Their business is slowly
dwindling as people are switching to
    tabs/smart-phones and notebook.
  • Kanika, a marketing co-ordinator found that the
company was not adapting to the change
    technology trend and customers requirement
    was losing customers.
  • She tried explaining her manager but, he
wouldnt listen so Kanika ultimately resigned
from her position as she realised that her
current organizations business is slowly become
obsolete and has a bleak future

15
Value add to the company
  • We discussed earlier that if the job doesnt add
value to your knowledge talent it is time to
    part ways.
  • Similarly if you realise that you are not adding
value to the job that you do consequently to
the company, its wise to quit.
  • Sooner or later the company will realise it too
    you will be jobless.
  • You too will be frustrated about just killing
time and getting rusted, doing nothing
substantial for the growth of the company.

  • It had been two years since Satish was working
for Crescent Pharma as a marketing executive.

one year later he realised he didnt have any
    decision making power.
  • His skills as a leader were not explored. He was
not adding value to his job profile the
    company.
  • He didnt feel the urge to do such a routine job
of execution without his thought process being
    applied to it.
